Help setting up a motorised dish

I have a 1m orbital with Comag SL65 decoder from **** and Motek 2100a motor. I have sats from 28e, 19e, 16e,13e,1w and 8w, Don't seem to get any others in between, I may have put the strongest transponders in though. On the sats listed above I get 75% signal strength and integrity. The dish is ground mounted and is about .5m off the ground. I think getting 30w is out because the dish looks towards the shed which is only about 1m away! But I should get other sats before it looks at the shed! My question is is my arc ok, I gather it may not be. also I get 76% signal and integrity for astra 2 but on BBC1 the integrity drops to 46% and signal quality is 75%. Is the arc droping away because I can't get BADR4 at 26e?

Can anyone recommend a good sat meter for about 70 quid! I am currently using a tv but I think I will need to wall mount the dish to get a better arc but lifting a 19 CRt up a ladder onto a flat roof is not easy and I would prefer a meter.

I use a Simple Audible device which has earphone . High pitch for high signal low pitch for low signal. It came with the (portable satellite receiver kit) from L*dl for about €80 that I installed for a neighbour a while back i also use a simple Visual Strength meter in conjunction to get a rough bearing on location and strength.
I am sure you'd get one on Fle**** for a quid or two. Mind you This is a cheap man method as I cannot afford one of them deluxe models that the professionals use.
Then I take a 4' LCD and the STB out to dish for fine tuning, i.e using BBC World News as strongest transponder on 1'west... With a Lot of patience and even more coffee I get ,
30'W 27.5'W 24.5'W 22.0'W 15'W 12.5'W 8'W 5'W 4'W 1'W 4.8E 7.0E 9.0E 10.E 10.E 16.E 19.2'E 23.5'E 26'E 28'E 33'E All on Motor.

However as I only Use 1'w 2.4'E 19'2 and 28'E, the last 3 sats are on disecq switched to preserve motor...

My set up is 1 Meter off ground for all 3 dishes as it's easier to work on when things go wrong....

There's only so much you can watch at any one time.

I use a 7" lcd tv and reciever. The cheap meters are ok for rough, but I don't bother at all with them now. For £70.00 you won't get a more accurate metre than the one built in to the reciever.

Thanks for the help. I have rescanned and I have been able to get all sats between 28e to 7w, no more though. I gather the arc may be out, am I correct in thinking this.

As regards to meters/tv monitor perhaps taking a 19"crt is on the only way!!!
