Sorry, what do you mean, went the Linux way?
pixey
He means that he got him self a new sat box that has Linux as its operating system...
Good point...
These receivers have an wonderful advantage in that they can talk to other receivers / servers over an internet connection.
Bad point ... you have to learn some stuff, they are not plug and play.
If you google cccam then it should all become 'clear' (pun intended :D)

Thanks AJR. What receiver do you mean, for example? I have a Humax at the moment and would be interested in a new box, if I knew the best way to turn.

if I knew the best way to turn.
Lol
If we all knew that then over the years a lot of us wouldn't have spent a fortune that's equivalent to the national debt of a small country :D
But... If you want to get into linux then I would suggest 'something' like a DM500 (or a good clone) which will not cost a fortune.
However the AZbox HD is also a good idea, and should be the best buy (but software at this time is still beta)

The TM500/600 are very good especially as a beginners box. They don't require too much to get them running stable. The TM9100 super is another great box but does take a little more tweaking to get it running properly. The TM500 will also read a white sky card which the DM500 will not.

So it was a test of the new system, lets hope it created mahem for their subscribers.
Anything to slow up the change over.
The big change over, is this not when Thor 6 comes in to play?

Is it a narrow beam satellite so we need a really big dish ?
Less power then Thor 5
TWTA output power:
Thor 5: 55 W (FSS) and 150 W (BSS)
Thor 6: 53.5 W (FSS) and 91 W (BSS)
preliminary:
K1: not in south-west-UK
K2:
DTH 1: Austria, not Tirol, South East Germany
DTH 2: south-east UK only, spain, france, Benelux

What about Dreambox DM800 HD, for £399 from the sponsor. Is this a good piece of kit, and do you need anything to get it running, or just plenty of reading? :respect-050:

still open, hard to help, if you don't tell what hardware you're using? Do you have reception on that satellite?
FTA: DDTV 12643 H SR 27500 Vpid 0546 Apid 0696? strong and stable.

@Giga
Seany is spamming the diablo section, as he/she only joined in july ( and does not have a clue ) I have tried to help, giving detailed instructions today in another thread.... If this not help then I give up!!
Regards
Understood, myself not a diablo user and still on a steep learning curve myself. reading and reading a lot, if you think you understand instructions: try out. Don't skip any steps, If you have trouble with operating systems, stay away from linux boxes. Nothing is for free, you have to work hard and learn these things and understand that sometimes it will stop working, even with official boxes and you will lose your investment in hardware.
On the other hand you had the pleasure of viewing these channels.
First take driving lessons, then progress to the next level, and so on, and if you are lucky you pay for a F1 license and you can drive a F1 if you are hired.

Digi film channels are both on Test card at the moment. 1 went at around 8pm, 2 went some time after 10. Rescanned but no change. Wonder what they are up to?

Probably an equipment failure at their end.
1880 is appearing on most channels now but 1801 and 1802 are still there.
still testcard showing there

I wonder if this is a planned outage because if you look at the website: _http://www.digitv.ro/program_tv.html you can see program listings for other channels in the package but not digifilm 1 + 2.
but lets be honest, the only films you are missing are the 4 that have been on for the last 2 weeks.
I think film 1.1 and 1.2 on 19.2 are much better.
They may be testing Nagra3...

They may be testing Nagra3...
But if it was just that, they could test alongside N2 (1801) without pulling the service.
The ECM stream on 1801 is still rolling and wanting key 01 but there is no Now/Next info today.
