Just fitted a 32Gb SSD in my 8k to be used purely for permanent timeshift. PTS is a great feature but I didn't fancy using the normal HDD for it, SSD runs cool, quiet and fast.

Using the 2nd sata connector, it's working great so far.

This is my first experience with SSD, hope it holds up !

C'mon, bring on all your SSD horror stories :)

It's great m8, file size varies and gets deleted when changing channel and a new one is created, i have it set for a maximum of 3hours.

Set it up and enable from the plugin menu, that's it, it will start next time you change channel.

With the autotimer plugin m8, probably not as slick as sky's but it does the job a treat.

At the moment I have it recording Lie to Me, only from Sky1 HD and only in a certain time period.

Oh.. and permanent timeshift doesn't seem to work - unless I am doing something wrong? I have it enabled, but when I press rewind on the remote nowt happens.. Bet I'm being a dolt here...

Ta!

Have you told it where to save the file to??

Enigma2 installation (dreambox)

with a unix compatible editor edit the file /usr/bin/enigma2.sh and before the line

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libopen.so.0.0 /usr/bin/enigma2

add this line

/usr/crossepg/crossepg_epgmove.sh

You'll need to do the above and then restart e2 to load EPG

I've tried that...

If I edit the enigma2.sh file and then write it back (after chmod 755) then the box just hangs on bootup...

Any ideas?

Sorted. Had to use linux compatible text editor..

Steps for anyone else :-

ftp the crossEPG ipk file to /tmp

cd /tmp

after that

ipkg install crossepg-enigma2_0.3.2-svn-33_mipsel.ipk

now download from /usr/bin/ the file enigma2.sh via ftp to your hdd and edit it with a unix compatible editor. you have to add

/usr/crossepg/crossepg_epgmove.sh

BEFORE

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libopen.so.0.0 /usr/bin/enigma2

now save the enigma2.sh and upload it to your dm8000 (delete your old one first). change via telnet your dir with

cd /usr/bin

and now

chmod 755 enigma2.sh

now you have to reboot your dm8000. your crossepg downloaer will be in newnigma2 services...

Thanks to oZxS for the instructions!
