the most popular at the moment is probably nabilo blackhole,
details and download here https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=111875
for features and ease of use its probably your best bet
you can download settings, emu etc from blue panel
St.O

I have the latest oozoon in the flash and nabilo blackhole 0.11 as the main image booted by barry allen on a usb stick , but I also have several other optional images on this usb stick too

the main decision to make here is if you have a boot flash image and use B.A. on a stick ? or if you install a proper image into the flash and no usb stick images , so its important that you realise the differences between the 2 approches as that may influence your decision

ie:- you may want to install a pureflash flash image and run bootable images off a stick

or you may just want 1 main flash image to do the work

Latest DCC is in the Dreambox Tools section HERE (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=109563)
You will also find Dreambox edit in the tools section.
As for settings I always use CAJTON's which will probably be updated later today.

Never load an image via wireless always wired, if you are having problem updating your box flash the box with the latest OoZoon image and then try Nabilo, you may have an old second stage and drivers which can not be overwritten by nabilo image.

connect using a long ethernet lan cable from the router direct to the rear ethernet socket and use the webinterface to flash it , thats all I have ever done , and as sonix says do not flash the box using wireless , its not reliable enough and you dont want to brick the box !!

That won't work ... unless you have a PC on the network with a FIXED IP address.
Best method is:- get the IP of your DM, then put the cable from the DM into your PC and then flash.

I use a straight wired ethernet cable direct from my netgear router , boot the dm into flash mode as usual , note the ip address off the front of the dm , login using the web-browser in firefox , and flash as normal using the web interface

if going direct from a pc , use a cat 5 crossover cable ( not tried that myself )

Hey Satfred,

Have you tried via crossover cable to cut the wireless out for testing purposes.
I think this would be the easiest option and much much faster than a null modem cable. If you need help in doing this please ask as its very simple to set up.

Yep - just to say I have similar issues when trying to flash - it's a nightmare and one which I have put down to my router. Every one with this sort of problem, more often than not, ends up trying it round a friends with no probs - so I reckon some routers and the DM800 just don't get on when flashing.

I reckon oldfart's post will help though and so the next time I need to flash I will be trying that :)
