4.2.2 Feeds what are they

I see mention of 4.2.2 feeds on these forums a search on google does not seem to bring much to light, what are they and why would you want to recieve them?

these are mostly used to transfer live transmission to the studio before these are broadcasted: news, sport, show, live events: not for the public. (raw footage, unedited)

Thats interesting are these broadcasts in HD or SD? and where do you find the 4.2.2 broadcasts?
