Spoken to Hugo and EPG engineer.

Assisted him to implement Freesat EPG. I think this is going to be introduced before Sky EPG.

Also the beta testers are testing tommorow and we should be getting a new firmware on monday.

I don't know what is new or what has changed I am in the dark like you guys.

I am hoping the epg is implemented in the next firmware.

I have also asked for MHW 1 & 2 and sent the source for this.

What is important is that there is a sign of progress !

There is(really) no need for express update. I am sure we all can wait for the better than the worse.

So far we had CCC , thatīs good.

We need more, of course. We poor alien have a need for better working underlining. It works some times, still needa reboot every now and then.
Also a problem I canīt understand - why canīt this machine remember what You just told it - meaning that (some of us) need an subtext ?

When You change channel itīs gone. Yeah, I know, just press that button but it shouldnīt be needed. A small remember what I said would be fine.

The CCC is working rather good, needs an reboot sometimes but that is OK.

Mbox, well....... will it ever work ?

Perhaps the enigma 2 is on itīs way ? That would be a progress. Still I think the guys are doing a good job, problem is that they have too much to mess with so they donīt read all wishes. Even Santa have no time for that....

Still, think it is on itīs way up, where it belongs. Money rules, thatīs why they had to launch the box still in beta. Like to see an Alfa update soon.

So far the box is good, giving what You ask for. Some small? problem of course, the Menu is not really working, Too many buttons to press until You get what You want. Some pressing is tooooo much.

To do a good working remote You must ask the users, the common user.

Today You could be pressing and pressing ...lol Still it is faster than any dreambox.

Still have faith. Looking forward to the Great Upp Date :respect-050:

Just kidding, any step up is good for me.

Lets hope that they are open to change and help from the users:smash:

Lets hope more good things on the way...:respect-055:

I will say again I do not know what is new what isn't new.

My personal preference is EPG yours may be different. I am not saying it will be added.

Dual tuner are more important to others, The 20 MBps limit is also important.

I will say once more I DO NOT know what is in the update, so you will have to wait and see like me.

I think its very important to make sure that the next release of the updated firmware actually corrects most if not all of the known bugs in the Azbox this will convince potential buyers that they are buying into a product that is properley supported.

Radioboy

Well it must be done by users (maybe some work for companies ;) )
think about the legal aspects....CS is still against the law (well, in a lot of countries)

But to every1 thanx for the great job sofar, and keep on doing it.

I myself am still exploring the dark secrets of this machine and Linux....

Maybe a support forum can be opened, for questions like, where vfd-diplay.txt get its data from ??

Opensat will never build any Plugins for CCC or anything else(legal)

They could only help a Programmer with Code

it's already Monday. Is the new fw going to be made available today? Fingers crossed

Maybe hfmls could answer to this question.

Me, personally, read in Myazbox.de that firmware should be out the upcoming weekend. Don't ask me if Friday, Saturday or Sunday...

Why couldn't they build it?

Surely it's not illegal to build software such as Cccam to read your own personal card?

If you then choose to share it, that's your problem, not OPENSATS surely?

Surely it's not illegal

Wasn't there a very recent case of a box manufacturer being very heavily fined for having 'certain software' built in as standard ?

What's done by hobbyists for hobbyists with anonymous availability on the internet is one thing... its totally different if the box manufacture supplies the tools

Any news if firmware is still scheduled for Today?
Or have the testers had problems??

This is were it would have been nice to have read access to the board, so we could see the problems if any.

It would be nice to have both the new firmware and the official forum open, as was suggested for today.

As for me, I wont be holding my breath,

Opensat have promissed so much, many times, but rarely delivers.

What I would like to see is regular information from opensat, I wont feel in the dark anymore.

Hears hoping for some good news :respect-050:

Seems we'll be waiting till another day for this update!

I don't see why they can't release more information on how they;re progressing and what they're fixing...

All seems a little too hush hush to me...

Certainly put me off buying one,and several friends feel the same way.
Seems they just want your/our money, and then take the ****.
And before anyone suggests it,i have no commercial or financial connection with another product.

You're welcome to choose whatever product you want, if you want a stable box then wait until the firmware is in the final stage.

This is the last time I put my name to any dates. I am not being made a scape goat. I can only report what I am being told.

I do not have any financial link to Opensat nor do I wish to have.

I will let you know my independent personal opinions on the AZBox.

All I'll say to the item in bold is Hugo is trying his best to get this box to succeed, hence the hiring of a new head programmer.

I hate to say it as its said all the time but time will tell.

If the next update is nothing but bug fixes for German cable owners it would confirm that closed sat have no interest in fixing major bugs.

When was the last time closed sat fixed a major bug?

Never?

I hope we will all be proved wrong with next firmware release.

Was there a problem with HD Channels and CI?
Was there a problem with slow zapping?
Was there a problem with no DTS in mkv?
I'm sure there are a few more questions.

Just asking a few questions thats all.

goran

Yes, there were and there still are many major problems and many of those that could have been sorted by now (I feel, although I cannot be absolutely sure about it) solely by Opensat/Celrun - were NOT sorted, even though they were "waiting for Sigma" to sort out the other, bigger problems... Hence the new head programmer etc.

Zapping could've be improved upon, yes... even when we are using an Emu, not just CS SW, I think...

I don't know if this has been reported but... I noticed that sometimes, when I stay longer on a channel, say HRT, sound starts deteriorating, bit-by-bit, until it's so distorted it's not possible to understand it any longer... So, I must change the channel and come back to it and then it clears [running via Panasonic Home Theatre and HDMI].

Recording issues... from standby onwards, many reported many a time, sadly...

Adding controls regarding Emu and CS SW...

And so on and on, as we all know...:smash:

I'll be the first to cheer them on if...

That's "BTW" but a sure thing!!!

Good luck to us all...:cheers2:
