you have to load for the correct model:
6900HD Super or Non Super
6800HD Super or Non Super
The software loads well on 6800HD and 6900HD Super
how do you load? USB, Serial or Ethernet?
What happens when you try to load?

Its been reported that blind scan not working properly on 6.88, causing box reboots, hangups, software corruptions, culminating in reloading the previous patches via serial cable in extreme cases!
Still using 6.87 until announcement that 6.88 sorted out!:respect-050:

most likely a next ###p, I don't use blindscan, to much work sorting things out after blindscan. I add new transponder by Pid Search and use pid Search for finding changes in changed transponders.

Glad I saw this as I enjoy sorting out all the extra channels that blindscan finds. will leave well alone with 688p.

I do think so, It was circulating on the net, members here where asking to download. Was odd the regulars did not put it here for downloading.
A lot was mentioned, could not confirm it was working? Dual recording and viewing simultaneously, (DVB-s + DVB-T)
R A I not opening when closed
I have it running stable since it was out, when testing C S and making (dubious?) connections sometimes did crash and reverted to factory settings

Always take precaution before changing a patch (non official firmware)
Download your channels from the STB to a safe place (not just on the stick alone)
have a working null modem cable and test it before changing to non official patches
receiver keeps reseting (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?p=640721) <= click here

there is another recovery, i'm told, can not lay my hands on this, somebody else knows of this?

Giga

did a blindscan in 1 go on these positions:
28.2°E, 23.5°E, 19.2°E, 13°E, 9°E, 4.8°E, 1°W & 8°W
it is for a fixed multifeed LNB setup. so if you load on the TM6900HD Super combo, save yours first and keep it safe!

What I did with this one
on remote selected all satellites. Then in the edit channels selected all TV channels and deleted those. Exit menu. Switched to radio & in edit channels removed all radio channels.
Tomorrow I do a second test and have a blind scan running over this one. See if it crashes?

If you like to compare the results against your channellist? I suggest you use Clarke Tech Studio and have 2 seesions of it running. Load in the 1st your channellist and in the 2nd this one attached. And see if you like the results.

http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu270/Jan_Gruuthuse/003PressRedbutton.jpg

now you can select the satellite
change the transponder, polarity and symbol rate
if not there you can add the tranponder by pressing the green button and typing the frequency on the remote don't forget to select correct polarity and enter the Symbol rate

when all the fields are correct press the red button

Are these patches digitally signed (as in the case of the Humax ToH patches) so we know they come from a reliable source?!

Giga
20-08-2009, 05:58 AM
don't think you can backtrack to the programmer, would be a bit risky, if someone could find out or trace back the source.
The patch has to be recognised by the model or it will not load, if you use the standard way of upgrading (USB, or the technomate loader) I'm not sure if you have the same safety with DM-Loader for TM-1000-5000-6000 Series 1.8.7, I think it is possible to load the wrong patch with this loader, seen the latest experience: receiver keeps reseting (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?p=640712) <= click here to read the story, if you did not follow that story.
I strongly recommend: do not try this out and load a patch for another model or brand on to your TM. It can brick your model and you could have to buy a new one.

Ok, but dont you think that it is possible for someone to release a patch with the purpose of bricking the receiver? I dont think that an upgrade via USB/TM loader can prevent this.

Giga

agree completely with you. that possibilty is there. The same with postings, the risk is always there. Whatever you find on the web: you can get the wrong info or are misguided with advice.
I always try the software or patches on my computer or receiver before I post. (got my reputation to keep)
Most bricked receivers happen by users (unintentionally flashing wrong software in the box, experimenting, powerfailure while flashing, not waited long enough: removed stick, ...)
Updating is always a gamble you know where you start, you never know where it ends.
With the card change from seca2 to seca3, the providers have the nasty habit of changing the key on a weekend evening, when you can't get hold of anyone. The provider did not pass all the info to Technomate so one of the keys could not update and the TV stayed black on my payed subscription. The wife did not like that at all: missing the soaps.
So I have now a 2nd receiver, an official cam, and 2 subscription cards, the subscription cards have a 14 day difference in update, just in case.
I have tested the loading with null modem cable. I have a CD+R with the official patches and the 2 loaders. If something go's wrong, I can easely move the second receiver from upstairs, downstairs.
I did even buy those F quick connectors for easy moving the boxes arround, no wear on the connectors screw-thread. Am I safe, well I hope so.

Hi GIGA I like your fixed multi-feed LNB setup, can you tell me what size of dish, and explain your lnb set up? i only know of a 4 feed set up. I'm asking because i want to upgrade my 1mt. mono feed.

current setup: 06/2010

previous setup (08/2009)
It is still temporary setup probably going to rearrange the LNB's over the three dishes and try to optimise reception and add some additional LNB's. The diseqc 1.0 switch will go out and putting in a 16 lnb switch. The middle dish (triax basic) is mounted on a camping-site stand and i'm still trying to find a good position for this one, like to have them at ground level, at my age.

i can see you like experimenting lol, very expensive hobby, well done! how good is the reception you from the 4 feed dish.
i'm thinking of getting one of this http://www.***************.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6_27&products_id=141

Just did run the 2nd blindscan on yesterdays blindscan: no crashes at all. My suspicion: those who had crashes most likely surpassed the 10.000 memory allocations for satellite TV and Radio channels.

Giga
20-08-2009, 12:02 PM
It is not so expensive, a bit now a bit later. If you can plan in advance what the goal is. You can keep the price reasonable. Big issue how many receivers with how many tuners: this will determine how your basic setup will look like.
Primary viewed satelitte positions: 28.2? In my case it was 28.2°E 23.5°E 19.2°E on both receivers. I'm using only one receiver at the time so there is scope for dual tuners and using a loop-through. If you want to use simultaneous 2 receivers to view and record: you would be in problems and change this setup from twin lnb's to Quattro LNB and use other switches.

should not crash? Do you have doownloaded a channel list or made your own channellist?
use Clarke Tech Studio (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=110802) <= click here
and check your transponder list? for odd frequencies? C-band or terrestrial?
What transponder and satellite are you trying to do a pid search on?

I had a problem with my TM6900HD Super, with 688p loaded, rebooting as soon as I did a blind search or tried to enter a new PID . I tried deleting channels and in the end deleted the whole lot, having first taken a backup, still to no avail. In the end I reverted to the Official 670 firmware and had to do 2 factory resets. Blind search then worked so I loaded 670p and all was still well. I then reloaded 688p and blind searches and new PIDs now work fine.

I have had the rebooting on blind searches problem prior to 688p and hoped 688p would cure it, but it didn't. So at some point the firmware had become corrupted and reverting to an early Official Version, factory resetting and then reloading the latest "p" seems to have cured the fault.

Hope this helps anybody with similar problems.

Would not advice to use this for standard loading, I already explained before (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?p=646247): it could be possible to upload the wrong patch. If you have to load use the official loader if you don't have USB. put your current channellist from your STB on USB stick, transfer to your computer, put in a zip file. e-mail it to me with indication what satellites you want updated and what satellites you never watch (going to delete those), if you don't use the radio, should delete those channels to. Removing unwatched channels should save transponder space. some for removing radio channels. There is only space for 10000 channels TV and Radio.

Your not the only one having a problem with this one
the USB stick must be FAT32 formatted, if this is not the case:
download GUIFat32Format1.0.1.0.zip unpack it on your windows computer, make sure you select the correct drive letter for the usb!
Fat32format 1.05 & Win GUI (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?p=630319) <= click here
Copying channellist on the USB Stick
On the Technomate put it in the USB port.
On the remote press the USB button (left above the menu button)http://tbn3.google.com/images?q=tbn:QecLkxV2M15tXM:http://www.kpn-telecom.nl/9289000/g/image6.gif

you are now in the USB menu, on the right select Data Transfer
select the correct [/volume0] / [/volume1] and press Ok
0 if no harddisc is attached
1 if harddisc is already attached
Wait until it shows the content of the USB Stick.

Now the confussing part:
Press the RED Button (Upload Channel) (= put it on the USB Stick)

Channellist's on computer always rename those to make sense after some time.
Always save a copy of your current channellist
Before you load a foreign channellist, take note on paper what the settings are for each satellite so you can find these back and change those back to your working setup if needed.

Loading a channellist on the Technomate:
Copy the channellist form your computer on to the USB stick
Put that USB stick in the Technomate press the USB button again
goto to Data Transfer
select [/volume0] or [/volume1]
select that channellist you just put on the USB Stick (turns Orange)
Press ok load in the Normal DB
wait until it is finished
repeat the procedure and load it in the Default DB

Are you not refering to blindscan? Only one PID Search for so far i can remmber:
Main Menu: Installation: Pid Search
Don't do a blindscan on existing Channellist or on multiple existing Satellites. This will create double channels and double transponders. There only 10.000 locations for radio and tv channels.
In auto navigation: don't use the green button

Remove all not used satellites
Main Menu: Installation: Satellite Setup: Press Blue Key

If you don't use Radio:
switch to radio on the remote top left button.
select menu on remote
goto edit channels
select Delete channels
press info (delete all channels)
confirm
if asked for pin: 0000
Autonavigation:
Select max 8 satellites
Search Type: TV
Network Search: Off
Select Press OK (orange), press OK on remote.
