to record SD channel what is best position to leave the video format on the TM6900 super+?

The same one you would normally watch it I guess, I don't bother changing it on mine, use the same 1080i output for all channels.

the video format comes in play when you view the recording. The recorded stream is in the format it is transmitted.
same as mrblue500 for viewing 1080i in pillarbox (don't like the stretched view of 4:3 content)

thanks m8, i was wondered if makes any difference, i did a 10min. trial recording on a SD channel at 1080i and the file was 386mb, 1 hour will be 2.361gig so i think maybe is better recording at a lower setting and make a smaller file whit-out effecting the quality of the picture

you can't change the recording settings for this. Afterwards you can convert the .TRP to vob (this changes HD to SD)
