Ive moved house so haven't been on the seen for 8 months dish goes up next week, i want to change my old TM_5500. whats the best hd box for £300? (its good to be back on satpimps):respect-050:

I have Golden Interstar which I find ecxellent - very sharp tuner, of course i do not do any CS so maybe others would not like it.

Youl´l have to give the Topfield 7700HSCI a try - with an Diablo wifi at the CI it´s a real winner.

Two stb HD now can have value are:

Azbox Premium Linux for hardware and Mutimedia.
New Generation SpiderBox HD Easy e freindly to use ..All upgrades only by USB.

All other boxes or are expenive or only remain the name nothink else better then others in Hardware or in Prices.

For me i am not in hurry to buy HD receiver at the moment ,so I will hold for the new Dreambox 500HD as it will be under £300 , and looking at the other previous Dreambox models it will have strong universal support for a long time to come.

I've had an azbox premium which i sold as i needed the money, and a dreambox clone.

The azbox is brilliant, a fantastic receiver and it should be even better now as things have moved on a little since i had mine. The dreambox 800 clone does not even compare to the azbox, it's truly awful.

I'm tempted to wait for the dreambox 500hd, or the technomate 600hd linux receiver that's due out next year, otherwise i might buy another azbox.

But the three i would recommend in your price range are.

Technomate 600HD (out soon)
Dreambox 500HD (out soon)
Azbox Premium or Elite
