I have finally got my TM6900HD Super combo with TM V Box to manage H to H mount dish...So far set up is ok but********
1. My TV is Sony Bravia Full HD 1080 , so far I have the HD picture but no sound???? all connections seems ok but I can't get the sound from TV, also when I connect the TM 6900 with scart lead sound comes on but very low level ( I have to put the volume up quite high)......???
2. Can I put the new patch 688p on it straight away or do I have to do anything else before hand???
3. What is the best setting on the TM6900 and TV to get best HD quality Psicture???
Your help is appreciated...:respect-060:
Regards...
would not not know for Bravia: reading the manual, see if there is a software update for the Bravia and if that will do any good, before loading that on your TV see if you can get hold of the one on your TV, just in case. Check out
http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/ they had a review for my lcd and settings for it.
The sound on the TM6900 Super: go in the main menu
select A/V settings on the right press ok
on the bottom of the new menu: Digital Audio: set it to HDMI dolby.
Check if you connected to a normal HDMI port and not one for DVI (computer) could have a separate audio input?

My setup is a 6900HD Super combo with Sony Bravia X2000. I have the same problem with the volume being very low through the HDMI connectors. I use a Logitech surround sound system instead of the TV sound and I find it much better that way. Hope this is of some help to you.
Regards, JT.
do you have an autovolume set on in the bravia? set it off. In Tm audio (audio button remote) you can set audio to low, medium & high)
my setup:
TM6900HD Combo super HDMI > LE40B650 > optical cable > pioneer VSX-d510 and the sound stays synchronised

Tried that. Seems to make no difference what settings you have on the Bravia, it's just low sound. May be something to do with the HDMI input setup, which you can't alter. I've tried all the various settings for volume and none of them improve it any appreciable amount.

Some one please tell me what to do, HD picture quality is brilliant but I can't bloody hear it....

on Technomate remote press audio button
Audio Level: Low / Medium / High
@gentlmen
You first have to tell TM6900 it has to send the audio over HDMI!:
Main Menu:
A/V Output Setting: PCM / Dolby SPDIF / Dolby HDMI
are you using the correct HDMI cable? 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, have you another HDMI cable in house? Try that one. Sony is very picky on its HDMI cables? Have here a HDMI cable 5 meter that would not work with Sony flatscreen? It Works without a problem on Samsung LE40B650.

I have to apologies you guys, I forgot to mention a small but important information. My TV connected to Sony DVD Home Theatre System DAV DZ230.
Now today I managed to get the sound from TV by changing the TV Audio settings from Audio system to TV Speakers, bingo great sound and HD promo channels on 19e. Problem is still there with the Theatre system which picture OK but no sound...tried PCM setting no luck, there is no SPDIF connection on the back of the Theatre System...
Also BBC HD and ITV HD no sound???
Regards..
Gen..
Can't work, like you want it to.
according the specifications for DAV-DZ230: only 1 HDMI connection and it is a Video OUT, no other digital inputs (coax/optical)
http://support.sony-europe.com/techspecs/masterspecs/tech_specs.aspx?site=odw_en_GB&m=DAV-DZ230
either you have the sound over DAV-DZ230 and use the scart? and have worse picture on TV for SAT or you have good picture and sound over the bravia. and use HDMI from STB to Bravia
Also BBC HD and ITV HD no sound if using the DAV-DZ230 you have to swith audio English (stereo). I would not use the DAV-DZ230 for watching satellite. STB box straight to Bravia on HDMI, you have a better picture and better sound.
Sorry M8

Thanks Giga, actually sound issue of BBC HDand ITV HD is without the DAV DZ230...Picture ok but sound terrible...
What about HDMI splitter from STB to TV and DAV, is there anytihing like that I can use???
Regards...
Gen...
don't think it will work:
1) audio delay with picture.
2) Great chance one of the devices will not react to the signal handshake between the 3 devices. Maybe with active HDMI splitter but still audio problem: quite certain a try before you buy. HDMI splitter may fail to work (handschaking between the 3 deivces) or devices get in HDCP error state. Split signal = copyright violation and devices could decide to block media shown on 1 or both outputdevices.
Had simular problem with my A/V sound system
TM6900 HDMI to Flatscreen
TM6900 optical to A/V sound system.
sound was processed out of sync: horrible
TM6900 HDMI to Flatscreen
Flatscreen optical to A/V sound system: no problem sound in sync with picture
BBC HD= 2 audio streams (stereo/dolby) you can swith those on the remote (headphones) if stereo works. If you use straight HDMI from STB to screen:
in TM6900HD super Main Menu: System Settings: A/V Output Settings: Digital Audio: Dolby HDMI if on 688p
If still bad sound, check Bravia settings for Dolby
if that was nto the problem
do a PID search on these transponders:
10847 V 28.2°E (BBC HD) (2 channels: stereo, dolby)
11426 H 28.5°E (ITV HD) (1 channel: dolby)
If still odd sound: check flatscreen settings for sound environment

Just to few more question about the set up guys...
I was trying to set up Wireless connection on TM 6900, I keep reading the forum especially Giga's tutorials about this, here is where I am so far with it...
1. Connection failed....I have put all the data on the ip settings manuall but still no joy.. they are all seems OK according to Tutorials, still NO CONNECTION.
2.USB File manager not showing Volume? (I don't have any hdd connected to TM yet)but it should show TM6900 volume at least???added new Ip Adress (which my own router) file manager, but still no connection?
3. On the Ip setting.**** DHCP setting On**** pressing Red button doesn't do any scanning?
4.How can I change the Mac adress, its greyed I can't edit it somehow??

You can't change your mac address. this is a unique number specific to your hardware.
On the "no connection" problem. When you enter your ip address( I think the instructions say use a free ip address) you should be adding the ip address of your pc not your router.
1. Connection failed....I have put all the data on the ip settings manuall but still no joy.. they are all seems OK according to Tutorials, still NO CONNECTION.
USB Wifi stick? Maybe this one is not recognised?
2.USB File manager not showing Volume? (I don't have any hdd connected to TM yet)but it should show TM6900 volume at least???
Volume is only showing when hard disc is connected or a USB memory stick (both fat32 formated)
added new Ip Adress (which my own router) file manager, but still no connection?
In your (Wifi?) router can you see the Wifi wireless used on the TM or on your PC? Do you have to set settings on this Wifi you using for the TM?
3. On the Ip setting.**** DHCP setting On**** pressing Red button doesn't do any scanning?
Is an indication nothing is happening with the wifi? with scanning the router (if it is set to do so and have a range set big enough to do so) should give the IP address and subnet mask?
are you using other wifi devices? Switch those around, see if this works?
4.How can I change the Mac adress, its greyed I can't edit it somehow??
As joany indicated this is a fixed mac address.

On the "no connection" problem. When you enter your ip address( I think the instructions say use a free ip address) you should be adding the ip address of your pc not your router.
My PC connected to a Router, when I ping the ip ads on the PC result gives me such as IP. SM and DG (ie.192.xxx.xxx.xxx)..So I beleive this is the correct ip adress and etc....
USB Wifi stick? Maybe this one is not recognised?
I am not using one, should I use one?
In your (Wifi?) router can you see the Wifi wireless used on the TM or on your PC? Do you have to set settings on this Wifi you using for the TM?
I have checked my Router DHCP Clients List, there is some ip and mac adreses but non of them belong to TM..
[are you using other wifi devices? Switch those around, see if this works?
No There is only one Router which connected to my pc...
So how do I fix this isuue???
Gen...
There is no wifi onboard in the TM. Either you put a CAT5 cable between your router and the TM or if your on the same 2 phased mains line you could go for a Powerline Ethernet Adapter solution (could recognize this on the main fuse box, 2 main fuses (2 phase in coming from the street), 3 main fuses (3 phase in coming from the street). If the wiring on the connections is out of phase no commucation with the Powerline Ethernet Adapter.
Cat5 cable:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet_over_twisted_pair
if possible I would stay away from Wifi.

Just to exploring the possibilities of TM6900 atm, it seems that there is lots of things you could do with TM6900 and also there may be CS option later or etc, I have got a wifi usb stick if its any good?
And also looking for external HDD as well? Something not too expensive, no problems during recording or carrying?
Gen...
stay away from external powered usb hard disc. USB port powered 250GB works best. C S maybe good if you have friend to share from.
Don't know about USB Wifi sticks, try out? I'm using cable is fastest for moving recordings (couple of GB for recordings) Wifi could be on the slow side for moving files, could be alright for C S?
