Dont know why all the posts. nothing new here. This is the IPTV product made by celrun. They make the very good hardware that we use for the box with Opensat developing/integrating the dvb -S/T/C tuners.

Celrun Co., Ltd. announced that it has signed a contract with OpenSat Lds to supply internet protocol television (IPTV) set-top boxes for the latter company in Europe and the Americas. The contract amount is worth KRW 167,742,582,479 or USD 22 million.

It's there, as it's interesting. It seems that Opensat only developed some parts re. Sat TV, as the box, by default, is an IP box, then there are DVB-T parts already developed by Celrun and I think I also saw something re. DVB-C.

So, Opensat brings in some "intelligence" re. their Sat TV previous boxes, up to a point, as this is their first Linux box. You know, hacked stuff, from Seca and via to Conax and Nagra [especially].

This is done, from what I know, partly in collaboration with Celrun but now, it seems there is a new head programmer, so not at all clear, suddenly... Why? Well...

It appears the "somewhat different processor" from Popcorn is badly suited, as it is at the moment [driver], for what we need it and they are still dragging their feet, after all this time and protestations, and it is still going on and on for ages...

My Q, as we await for a good processor driver [that cannot be produced by Celrun, so they don't lose their licence and parnership with Sigma isn't jeopardised!!!] is: would Celrun be interested in bringing together a new API geared for that driver, if and when it comes - or does the "outside agency" has to do all that, too? From what I gather, it all rests squarely on those two pieces of complex developments required right now... or yesterday!!!

It's required for speed and stability and versaility, namely that there are no streaming limitations, no OpenXCAS, i.e. no "mediators/interceptors" and so on and so forth.

On top of that Celrun [or Opensat?] must give us the perfect recording and playback of most Audio-Visual formats that most of us expect to work, as advertised... I mean, will all of that have to be produced "on the side"? By how many? How long will that take? How realistic is it that we should wait for... well, how long exactly?!?

We want this baby to become a REAL CONTENDER!!! :D :D :D

Well, Opensat must have some sense, to invest in THIS!!!! ;)

But, if all of that [and more!] has to be developed "on the side", away from the people who got $22 mil for the contract, how long must we wait for a decent FW 1.0, on top of all the delays and "in the next month or tow... ermmm... or three..."?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

And if Celrun can't really use it for their other products with such processors - why would they be interested?!? Will it be yet more "tomorrow" we expected from the Southerners but not the Orientals?!? :rolleyes: :D

{Also curious: how much [or how little - peanuts?] will the person developing all that will REALLY SELL the box, be paid, as the Koreans can't/won't do what is required, in order to really compete on the market that has - well... lots to compete with... I mean, just look at the DMM and their support...}

Opensat had a deal with them and they add an Tuner to their existing Product...
They have the Source code and they are the real owners...
that's why Opensat may not even have the Source code themselves ;)

Sunny Receiver is not exists That was planned for Turkish MArket but never had happened apart from those pics...
Azbox has been Cloned but not on the MArket Yet ;)

Look at the GUI of the Celrun IPTV box, it is identical to AZBox.
