Anybody know what could be the problem with a tm 9100. When switched on from the mains the red light does not go off. No green light. Will not come on. Have checked the capacitors on the power supply. They all look ok. No life at all.

Did you change the power supply like i suggested?

Just to update helper on this the receiver's problem the box froze and had to be turned off in the back to restart it but it would not come back on, it has got 4 green dashes on the LCD screen like - - - - the on/off button on the bottom left of the receiver as you look at it will turn red if any other navigation buttons on the pannel is pressed.
I have personally JTAG this receiver and tried it a few times each time the result is 100% success flash OK!
But i can not then carry out a serial update as the reciever will not initiate the serial downlaod as it should by having the NULL cable connected then turn on with OK pressed at the same time serial downlaod fails to start.

Any help with this would be apprecieted but i personally think it's hardware now

Would anybody have any idea what the following problem is? I have two tm 9100 receivers. When I switch one of them on the red light on the front panel comes on and stays on. So therefore nothing on the tv screen. When I switch the other tm 9100 on the red light is flashing and a blank screen. When I swap the power supply units around the results are the same, meaning that the flashing light power supply unit is in the other receiver and vice versa. Could it be a power supply fault or something else? Many thanks. Ron.

This is the wrong section for the TM9100.

You most likely have a power supply fault.

If you're confident in electronics you can repair it yourself.
