Ok... seems it was just another waste of time... Closesat seems denied our request... so no Enigma2 on this box or any other alternative besides known fw.

I already know what to do...

I was alone 2 months ago :) and telling E2 works great with good hardware ,now enjoying E2 but with my dm8000 ...

My guess is Opensat plays with time...

Most of the boxes were sold in March/April/May so soon the 6-month period (a legal window of opportunity in many EU countries) to return Azbox STB for non-compliance is gone.
So in September/October they may as well cease all further development, promises, keep the earnings and ...disappear.

what makes you think that ??

Have you try a good Hardware with Enigma2 ??

I will say , Topfield 7700 HD PVR runs enigma2 , but is not worth it
Topfield runs smooth with it is own software and is very good picture
but has other limitations

Kathrein 910 USF , uses Enigma2 ( i do not have one now) but when i did have 1 i was not satisfied with it.

IPbox HD range from 91 to 9000, can run Enigma1 and Enigma2
but must be said that you have a slow motion software on Enigma2 and this box, OK it runs , ok you can see tv , but it hands here and there

Most of Enigma2 problems are related to Enimga2 it self, as it is not perfect on DM 800 or 8000,

Yes it has many benifits as it is developed by many, but it has it is down sides to.

there is acctualy nothing perfect for satelite receivers, every manufacturer has bugs on their software, have not seen a singe satellitte producer/manufacturer that has a bug free box.

And i have teste few boxes in my years in the sat world

But one thing is sure, that if some one wants to develop Enigma 2 on Azbox then it could be donne, ppl can even made their own drivers for both the chip and the card and so on. There seems like there is no developer that has got the eye for the Azbox untill now, but give it time some one maybe will do some thing. Or maybe some one is doing something as we speak , who knows

answer from the OpenSat
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,

TD9000 is discontinued product and is the base of Azbox however are very
different HW. But some part of our software is protected under NDA agreement
and we cannot open source, however we will try to prepare a pack of drivers
that allow people to make their own sw and interface.

Best regards,

It is quite obvious they can't, but the drivers should be sufficient for people to start developing their own FW.

It will probably just take quite a while before they release this, as it takes quite a lot of time to prepare such a release.

do u see any dreambox forum opened?official?

Yes, has been there for years, why do some of you always feel the need to take a pop at Dream to bolster your arguments ?

hfmls
02-09-2009, 11:27 PM
well maybe that's because 99% of people don't use dreambox original firmware? use gemini, nabilo, pli.

you have to think about it.
oficcial forums could be good, and bad!

Never the less an official Dreambox forum does exist even though you implied otherwise!

goran

...still... can you see much good in an official "DBox2 forum"...? Have you ever seen an official DBox2 FW? Yayks!!! [Give a simple command and go fix yourself a complex drink, come back and it's still "working", plus you can't even dream of a "complex command", of the kind which we are interested in...:ack2:]

It seems to me these AZ guys are walking on a very narrow path, "high up", where a wrong step might mean a disaster... or is "down below" more accurate an analogy...???:D

Either way, in the official FW one includes some stuff which "shouldn't be there" and the licences and DRM... well...

We'll see... But let's be fair here... They need to be careful, as would you, if you were in their shoes...:o15:

Mind, once it's included, "official forum" or not - they are potentially in trouble...

{However, if a guy reverse engineers the development tools...

From such a moment on we have a different ball game!!!

Once that stuff hits the "underground" streets...

You know, from the basic stuff upwards...

...they must know this...:cheers2:

We are droooollling...:o16:}

This was posted here, too...

Neutrino is not a different OS but an "image" - Linux in both cases...

We await a:

1) good processor driver, then a

2) new API geared for that driver, so

3) no streaming limitations,

4) no OpenXCAS, i.e. no "mediators/interceptors", then

5) different EMUs/CS SW, which will be faster, more stable and complete [server and client],

6) good, safe and capable plug-ins of all sorts, then

7) perfect recording and playback of most Audio-Visual formats...

...and more...

...which will make this baby a REAL CONTENDER!!! :D :D :D

Well, if Opensat have any sense, they will invest in THIS!!!!:coolgleamA:

i find this in the official forum of dream multimedia

To the Dream Multimedia engineering management,

as ALL the others french DM8000 owners I have to complaint about the lack of interest shown by Dream Multimedia engineering team to fix a MAJOR problem on their devices making unworking a key features (AC3+ sound channel decoding) . By buying a box at this price and manufactured by a European company we were in position to expect to have a good support level otrerwise we would have to buy a low-cost Chinese product. I think current situation will be damageable in terme of image of the company on the market and we can expect a prompt and strong reaction to correct this situation.

An official statement here would be highly appreciated and will be a sign of professionalism.

An angry customer.

regards

and here is the answer

Unfortunately, AC3+ is a rare specialty of these channels so it hasn't been in our scope, yet. Since there's demand, now, we'll try to find a solution.
We are aware of the problem. However, usually it takes a lifetime to solve these license issues. So we can't make any statement how the solution will be, yet.

so?

YEs I use my dm8000 with E2 and it's lightining fast against AZBOX and I'm sure you know DM8000 and Azbox specs ;)

you call the cheap DM 8000 prodused in the China a good box
i have had one , i have used one, i sold it as it was not worth 1000 Euro

Yes i know the specs, yes i know it has many images , yes there are many team that make software or better said they build upon the original code from DMM , but the box is crap at list t me.
When you pay so much money for a box you expect to get what you pay for and not a junk.

Sorry i do not care about Azbox either, their are JUCKER then DM8000
i just like the HW , seems very good and very stable even with the beta software.

I use IPbox here as my daily tv source, but i like Azbox, we just need to give it time so this box will be on track.

I think that somme ppl here judge the box just becouse of CS possibilityes, i my self do not care about that, the box is not made for thatand is not sold for that.

iko
07-09-2009, 02:06 PM
Azbox is maybe better on some parts of the specs but why is that works much slower ?...
Receiver not crash so often but that fact makes the box works slower on channel zap because fw works as a two Part (Menu-TV) that's why Tv crash sometimes but receiver keeps working (Menu)
CS is illegal and delivering cccam is not opensat's duty...
Azbox Good box for FTA users ;)
Dm8000 not worth 1000 Euros for you and Azbox not worth 300 Euro For me and I've sold it and very happy with my decision so far ;)
Good Luck

Hahaha, try the best emu there is Mgcamd and try card reader Newcs
then you have the best combination there is , or at list in my opinion

I use this my self, and from my IPbox to Azbox localy it works like charm
never had a pixelation, Yes channel zapping is slow, but belive me it is not worse that Enigma2 on DM 8K .

Anyway, we are diferent , we like diferent things, must say that i liked DM but it did not give me anything extra that other boxes does.

Azbox Good box for FTA users ;)

Wish they would release all needed code to get Enigma2 on this box... just check development status and info versus what we get... old firmware and same bugs from months ago... no wonder why Nabilo choose to stay away from our box.

I think opensat doesn't hv access to entire source code (celrun property) and can only perform minor modifs. to s/w . Celrun koreans sold only a receiver as-it-is and don't care how opensat handles it .
My 2 cents ...

Cheers ,

I met their engineer, back then responsible for MultiCAs etc. Maybe he still is working on it? [I don't really know now...] So, not quite right, I think...

But the real issue is with Sigma and no support there. If they manage to get into it and improve the driver for the processor...

Well, some guys here say that transfer speed has increased, so... Maybe they managed to have a breakthrough?

In that case new API would be great, thanx... ;)

Then, no OpenXCAS, more speed and stability?

Uhhhhh...

One would have to find H*u*g*o's (his name is a "banned word" on this board - interesting... :D ) communiques re. twin tuner problem in Elite and Premium and how they (Celrun/OS) are searching for a solution, because Sigma assured them that it is possible...

And then "We never said anything of the sort..." Lying through their back teeth, having stated, in front of all of us, that the solution is "coming", trying to reassure us...

The little problem with HW (CI CAMs), constant promises about OFW v. 1.0 that never was, to this day...

And so on and on and on...
