Will this work as an external hard drive with the Dreambox800?

Not sure whether a 1tb hdd would work, as I remember it being said previously that 500gb was the biggest size the dm800 would support. But that was for internal hdd's.
One thing, this is a usb hdd, which may (not 100% sure, someone else might help you) require you to re-mount it everytime you reboot the box.
The best option would be to go for an e-sata hdd, or for an internal. Personally, I would recommend to go for an internal sata drive, but that's just my preferences (makes it look neater, since less cables and less space taken up)...

thanks mate.
Would any external e-sata drive do? Or is there any recomended ones.
I prefer getting an external drive due to the heating issues that are said to happen with internal hard drives in the dm800.

I too have internal 500gb hdd (previously it was a 320 hdd, but for the past 6 months or so, has been 500gb).
Mine is a WD Scorpio Blue iirc... Been a good drive so far, and had no lock ups at all...
I have an external e sata Samsung 320 GB running for about a year now without any problems https://www.satpimps.co.uk/images/icons/icon7.gif

Get youself an Antec MX-1 external hard disk enclosure and put a standard size sata hard disk in it.
It has a build in fan to cool the hard dive, extremely quiet, comes with a esata cable. They look nice too.
I have a 1TB samsung sata2 drive in mine and can't hear a thing, flawless.
