Just been to my local council tip and spotted a very large Channel Master dish...went over to take a closer look and I would guess it was a 2 metre job made of fibreglass not metal. To big for my site but I asked one of the staff if it had come with the any mounting brackets and he said he didn't know...if it did have the mounting brackets would it have been worth keeping because he said that it would still be there till after the bank holiday on Tuesday.

Most likely 1.8 metre.Any channelmaster is worth grabbing hold of,especially if its got its mounting brackets.

Even if its just the dish face, its worth saving, you can still buy the arms and metal work.

Go and get it!!

Where are you located? Ill take it of your hands if you dont want it ;)

Before anyone asks no the wife has not taken mine to to tip..lol

I too will be surprised if the staff let you take it but if you can get it and sell it. Even with no arms the face alone is worth something.

Cheers lads, couldn't take it there and then needed to put roof-rack on my car, I did asked him to keep it...and he was going to look for any mounts and brackets when I left. I am going back today will let you know how I get on.

Bad news am afraid it was crushed...but the manager of the site reckoned it was not working he said the guy that dropped it off told him he had replaced it with another dish...so maybe it was warped, the manager also said there was no mounts and brackets so maybe it was damaged. I will console myself in the fact my garden faces west and there are obstacles to a ground mounted dish to the south which is why my dish is on a wall just above the gutter.

I can't see anyone with a dish that big not knowing what it was.
