OK. If you boot your DM into the webinterface (hold down bottom button whilst switch on) then connect via telnet, you get a config menu. Dreambox Advanced Setup Utility. Here is the boot menu from that utility. Anyone got any clues ...

Similar to a PC bios, from there you could set it to boot from the network for example.
I give my 8k a fixed IP from the network section.
Be very careful what you do in there !

As already said by dubious be careful what you do here, the only thing I do is fix my ip and set my ethernet to 100 and not auto, that is on my 7020.
I have not looked at my 800.
same here,
all i have done in this menu is set my network to 100 full duplex rather than auto.ian.

Guys better to let it at auto because if there is a problem on the network ic, then it wont let you connect to make any changes, if on auto and can work on 10 then at least you have something.
Happened with me on a 7020 and a poor quality cable.
