UK Reports for 25.5e Eurobird 2.

Has anyone had any joy picking up eurobird 2 ?

If so can you please post info, dish size location etc.

It's not possible unless you've got a dish the size of Jodrell Bank.The edges of the beam come nowhere near the UK.

I could pick up one transponder a couple of months back but I don't that anymore... :-(

Just don't want to start moving the whole lot if it is not worth it.

I did manage to lock and scan in 1 frequency a few months ago (11075V), but can't get it now. Using a 1.2m channel master in west yorkshire.

If you're trying to get the Orbit package this is sent using the fixed beam from Eurobird 2.

Lyngsat shows that the fixed beam is centered over the western Mediterranean. The beam tails off to 40dBW at the top of Italy, bottom tips of eastern France and Spain

A 40dBW equates to 1.5m - 1.9m dish size.

Your 2.4m may get the odd signal during odd atmospheric conditions, like others have reported, but you won't get a permanent lock on the satellite from northern England.

I think the beam is centred over the Eastern Mediterranean. That's why I can't receive it from the western med.

keano i want to receive 25.5 east in the uk can you move your dish to 25.5 and see it you can receive any thing from the orbit transponders.

Extreeme fringe reception is a funny thing, and even 10 miles can make a differance of recieving and not. I very much doubt that you will recieve 25.5e but there is nothing to stop you having a go. With a 2.4m you would have a better chance with 7w, you might sneak in some horizontals.
