Hi,

I bought my azbox without checking if it could read my card.
That was a very bad idea - I have tried ever since to get it to work and getting very frustrated by now. The card i believe is similar to Sky italia.
The latest i read that newcs + mgcamd should work with the internal card reader for some cards. I'm not sure it works with mine but i tried and this what i get from telnet:

It seems the value for port in newcs.xml does not match the port you assign in mgcamd (20000 <> 12000)

Also I'm not sure about the location of the port.

Personally, I would remove hostname from the user configuration in newcs.

also unknown Card without Boxkey/RSA

I dont have a Card like this, try to get more Information.
Also try to use it with NewCS 1.67 and external Reader because 1.20R13 is quite old.
And simular to sky it-no it isnt, if it would be an NDS Cards

forget mgcamd for time being even if it does connect its no good unless newcs can read the card so park mgcamd and concentrate on newcs

also get rid of the radegast and xml server sections unless you intend to use them

get rid of the hostname and port in the user section

I beleive theses are the trickiest of all cards to get working I have seen an xml file somewhere on another forum and I beleive they were reading the card but had problems with the client

my suggestion would be to grab that xml file first you need to google as I cant say the forum on here but its starts with euro

with newcs 1.65 1.66 and 1.67 it will read an n d s 3 card without the box key but not sure about v i a s a t

most ND S need a Box key like 00000000
so no boxkey can also be a Problem

It seems from other forums that s*y it is read without problem with MultiCAS_v157E-D04. So you could test it.

Viasat card was fixed on 1.67 , especially the new ones are tricky.
You will need to supply the boxkey in the xml file.
If finally doesnt work for now, use Fausto on your pc and create a newcamd server for it to work with your AZ.

First, thanks all for the help so far.
Replaced newcs with newcs 1.67 RC1. (Both with new and old xml and no change still loops reset failed)
It just loops. Don't you need a USB reader for that version or does it work with the internal reader?

Tried MultiCAS and ended up with "UNKNOWN CARD"

Im sure I have tried that but doesnt recognice.
As I wrote, you need external reader for it like Smargo or FTDI

I have no problem with my Viasat-card. I use MultiCas v157E-Do4 and firmware 0.93180.

Hi,

It works on my azbox with newcs v1.6 and mgcamd v1.32 (downloaded from azboxworld.com). You just have to delete "<RSA>XXX</RSA>" in the newcs.xml file and edit the boxkey (it should be a 10 digit number).

Well, I have heard that Via**** sweden (nordic?) is replacing old N D S 2 cards with new N D S 3 cards. Maybe you have got the new N D S 3 card?

I tried with another card and it worked instantly with MultiCAS ,but still trouble with newcs. So i guess its because the card was N D S 3. Also the boxkey is 11 digit (HD)

Thanks all, gonna keep MultiCAS it works very well. Any suggestions for sharing. Mbox?

Btw, does anyone have problems with the sound via HDMI? Every time i change channel its gone and i have to change to HDMI 2 on my TV and then back to 1, so it refreshes. Tried the other HDMI ports on my TV and its the same. Also this happens on Youtube, movie playback etc.

I did some research, the new Via**** N D S 3 cards should work in Newcs 1.67 with Mgcamd 1.30c and 1.30d and correct boxkey inserted.

To get the box key: remove the first and the last numeric (ex. 01234567895 becomes 123456789), then you should have a string of nine numerics. Convert it to hex using for example windows calc in advance mode, insert the number and press the hex button. Now you should have a hex which has seven letters, put a zero in front and thats the boxkey to insert in the newcs xml file.

Do you have the HD-channels as well? Please let me know if they work.
