I have a new dm800 i get perfect results in all but 2 hd transponders it refuses to tune in correctly i get severe breaking up every couple of seconds on channel 4, sky sports, discovery ect this just seems to effect a couple of transponders any clues to what could be the problem ???

I have the same problem only with channel 4HD. I have tried a few images as they are released as well as updated settings, but the result is always the same on CH 4HD..................I just gave up, i know this does not help, but at least you know you are not alone............montyboy

just to add i have issues aswell with this, mainly ok 28.2 (sly)
i even replaced all cable which worked for about 10 mins then the transponders did the same.
mine are c4 etc... and flaunt etc...
alltho last night they were clearing ok. im sure its not my 1.2m dish.
i go thro a vbox11 to position the dish, but if i remember i tried it straight into the dm800 with same effect.
i think it seems to drift in and out if u see what i mean.
but as you say its only certain transponders :(

and most annoying is that sometimes they do actually come in,i like you have checked everything i can think of and can only put it down to the dm800 itself or the images.(i use nabilo)

Do you have clones or original dm800?
Just ask as on another forum a few are complaining about
the same channels , there all using clones.

actually has anyone read this https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=116409

flaunt,bliss,etc... seem to be much more stable tonight for me. i havent touched anything makes me wonder if it is related?
i have a theory being that the dm tuners i believe are not so sensitive as other recievers that perhaps my dm800 had troubles for a while with it then it got worse so that other recievers are now seeing it.
just a theory but would make sense if something been fixed on the actual sattelite.

Ok my mates had a play with his LNB, SNR gone from 45% to 75%
also he's having no more problems with skysportshd1 or C4HD and Discovery HD.

All sorted now with a little play with LNB.

What kind of "play" did you try? I've got the same problem and would love to hear the solution...

I tried slightly moving the dish in all directions but no improvement

He's just had a play with his LNB mate.
Nothing drastic.
Said it's sorted his problems out with skysports and others

Wot you prolly need to do mate, is to just turn the lnb left/right (adjusting the skew) a little to see if it improves the signal. If you can get someone to watch inside whilst you're outside, then that will allow you to see how well the adjustments are going

My DM800 is hooked up to 2 dishes, a motorised 1m and a sly minidish with a quad lnb.

I had some break up when using the motorised dish but this was cured by tweaking the lnb skew, but I tried every skew position on the minidish without success, a little improvement but not solved yet...

May be some tuner issues as well I think

That's a line amplifier if you can't find the link, I haven't tried it yet but reportedly a solution.

yer lucky you didn't blow up the box the_dvd_guru m8ey,
you should have turned it off first before removing the cable :respect-048:

i took the risk otherwise the vid would have been 3 hours long due the boot time of the 800!!!

can confirm i got one of these and it seems to fix the problem about 90% still breaks up occasionally, but it does seem a good fix, i await 3 o clock saturday to see if the proof is in the pudding!

I have this exact same problem and I suspect it could be a weaker transponder for a reason. This TP contains the most premium channel there is, Sky Sports 1 and Channel 4 HD which they want to be on Astra 2d to limit it's reach.
I believe they are deliberately keeping the power on this one down as I have seen signal reduce gradually over the months.
Thus, for whatever reason, many of us are having problems.
It doesn't help with SS1 but at least they are actively seeking to move C4 HD off this TP soon and then maybe well get better quality.
As for using the inline amplifier, I have a 4/1 disecq, can I use it in conjunction with this just with the 28..2 coax?.
