I have had a Super jack vbox II for sometime and over the last month or so it started to buz. Realy noticeable when everything was switched off other than the vbox. So I removed the transformer to see if there were any loose plates in the core , what i did notice was the winding core was slightly loose on metal core. I fixed it by glueing them together. Rebuilt and switched on, job done as quite a mouse. :sifone:

Keep an eye on it m8
My old vbox (gbox positioner) which was in a well ventilated area started buzzing & eventually went up in smoke one saturday afternoon.
Thankfully we were in at the time so no real harm done but could ave been alot worse
It was like that scene from only fools & horses when the radio starts smoking on the coach to margate!

Hi..
Mine does also buzz from time to time...
Its the vibrations from the electric transformer that make the
outer casing sound...
I just move the V-box a little and the noise is gone...
A tip keep the V box well ventilated it can be real hot...

My first one lasted 2 weeks,no buzz, just a puff of smoke.
Got a refund and bought a better one.

They need to be put in standby (power off) if you are not hopping from sat to sat.
As all my specialized sat kit is in a spare room, I can power on move dish and power off again - not an option if you hop a lot from the sofa though.
my v-box went wrong a few years ago
now use pace msp 200r stand alone positioner never a moments trouble ever since :cup-006:
I have 2 superjack vboxII up in my loft one running each dish, they have spent many years up there with no probs. but if they did buzz i would not here them, so i think a job for the weekend to go and check them as i have not done so for a long time

question for tr8, and it might be a stupid question if the vbox is in the loft how did you set it up. i am thinking of getting a new receiver getting rid of my echostar so i would need a vbox your idea of the vbox in the loft sounds OK.

Just an update after a couple of weeks, everything is still quite and it's not running that hot. Still after others have had problems with their boxes I may unplug it while Iam on holiday just to be safe.

In my case you can set it up via the recievers.
I know it was a time ago but i used my tm1500 that i had then you could do it with my current recievers as well.
the only thing you must do is always save each sat to the same number on each receiver, ie for me hotbird 13e is 1, astra 19e is 2, eurobird 28e is 3
that way when I change a reciever they all work the same, I can switch dish as well without any issues, just keep a list of what sat is what number

While you wait for tr8 to answer (b*gger, he posted while I was typing this :) ), I'll just say that all commands are available via DiSEqC from most receivers. But in initial setting-up, it is useful, but not essential, to see the front panel readout of the V-Box position counter though.
I've put the user manual on pimps somewhere.
Couldn't find it so here it is again. This is for the SuperJack version (there are other versions but most act the same):

a loud click before starts ? mine clicks and moves to next satellite . and if other satellite clicks again .
think clicks due to part like a speaker in it. i not opened to look.

My Vbox. Iam not sure about your Vbox.
Turn the box upside down and under the rubber feet (that are stuck on) there are holes with screws in the bottom. There are vents on the top of the box.
