View Full Version : TM6800 emu conflicting with original JSC Sports card

Today I received an Irdeto JSC Sports card. Since I have excellent reception for all satellites on which JSC is available I have tried on all sats with the following results:
Badr (26E): All channels +1 to +8 clear on card reader
Hotbird (13E): All channels +1 to +8 clear on card reader
Nilesat / AB 4A (7W): Only +1, +2, +3, +4 and +6 clear (+5, +7, +8 and HD not clearing)
Now the fact that +5 to +8 are clearing on 26E and 13E means that the card is activated for all channels, so I am suspecting that the problem on 7W is a conflict with the internal emu (6.79p) which clears +1, +2, +3, +4, +6 on 7W. Seems like on this sat the emu is kicking in and the card is being ignored.
Is there any way how to disable the emu everytime I want to watch JSC Sports HD ? If I cannot disable it I cannot clear the HD channel with my original sub!

Main Menu: System Information: from remote 2 0 0 4
Main Menu: System Information = I only see Info, CAS Menu, BISS Menu and if I go into CAS and BISS I only see keys.
2 0 0 4 from remote = nothing happens
My patch is 6.79p (Apr 17 2009). Maybe in this version, the above is not implemented?

I disabled the emu as instructed (thanks to Giga and SatPaul). However +5, +7, +8 and HD still dont clear. +6 clears with the card on the same frequncy (AtlanticBird 4A - 12456 V). I am sure about this because if I take out the card, +6 turns into black screen with 'Scrambled Channel' message. So, the problem is not a conflict with the emu, as I was originally suspecting!
I have confirmed that I have the right TP parameters with Lyngsat/KoS/FlySat, so either tonight they have some technical problems with above 4 channels on 7W, or the internal card reader of the Technomate has some problems with those channels. I will wait until tomorrow and if the problem persists, later on this week I will test again the Irdeto card in my Humax 5400's official Irdeto CA to check if +5, +7 and +8 clear on that (of course cannot test HD channel on the Humax).
I will report back once I carry out the above tests.
Can't be a cardreader problem, should happen with the other channels to.
12456.00 V DVB-S (QPSK) 27500 3/4
did you check the video pid? audio pid +1 English, +2 arabic?
+5: 211
+6: 221
+7: 231
+8: 241
+9: 251
Is it 6800HD or 6800HD super? and did you try 688p? If it is 6800 HD non super I can upload 688p for it. Can't see any logic why 6 opens and the remaining not?
did you already do a pid search on 12456.00 V (7°W)
and what is the signal strength for that transponder and quality for each JSC channel on that transponder? if you get below certain quality strength it could stay closed?

Thanks for the constant help Giga :)
Here are my answers to your questions:
- VPIDS are the ones that you wrote,
- APIDS are +1 Arabic, +2 English (channel list generated automatically from KoS)
- Receiver is 6800HD (non-super)
- Did not try 688p yet because I read somewhere that with that I will loose RAI Seca channels (can you confirm that?)
- I tried a PID search, it just finds all channels again and saves them to the receiver with the scanned name (JSCSPORTS +x where x is the number)
- Signal strength on 12456V : 81% (+6 picture is perfect, no breakups)
I have noticed the following:
(i) +5, +7 and +8 open on Hotbird and Badr so the card is enabled for them
(ii) I have managed to gain access to the JSC Self-Service website through a proxy server (with direct connection I get 'not allowed from your country' message) and when I enter the card number it shows me that the card is valid for +1 to +8
(iii) The TM 6800 HD is showing that +1 to +4 are encrypted in Viaccess, Irdeto and Skycrypt. But +5 to +8 and HD as only in Irdeto and Skycrypt. But again this should not make any affect because the card is Irdeto (and on the last four only Viaacess is not recognised) and also dont forget that +6 is opening and that one is on the same transponder
This was on a 6900HDSuper:
I've gone back to patch 679p because with the latest patch's i cant clear the rai channels (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showpost.php?p=650610&postcount=7) <= link to post
6800HD (non-super) is other software, has not the satfinder.
so you could try and see if it works: for rai and JSC? with 688p for 6800HD, I upload it. patch is in the 6000 series FW

I will try that, but what is the procedure of upgrading to 688p without loosing any of my settings. Will an upload and then download of the channel list be enough? Or should I take care of anything else?
download the channellist on usb stick keep it safe on your computer, don't overwrite or erase the file!
Take not on piece of paper of your dish setup (settings) and sat settings.
make sure you have copy downloaded of your current patch, so you can reload the old patch 679p. (you can have both patches on the stick).
Normally everything should stay the same. You get trouble when use someone else channellist, who has other setup then yours.
It runs stable here on my 6800HD.

Hi Giga
Following 3 days of tests here is my updated report on this issue:
1. I patched my TM6800HD with the latest patch (688p).
Result = +5, +7, +8, HD on 7W (AB4A) still dont clear! +1, +2, +3, +4, +6 are ok! (like with 679p)
2. At least 688p still clears RAI on Hotbird. Also, 688p still clears JSC +1, +2, +3, +4 on 7W with emu (like with 679p).
3. 688p seems to clear encrypted channels more quickly than 679p.
4. I have borrowed a T-Rex CAM. I have put that in my TM6800HD and put my JSC Sports Irdeto card in the T-Rex.
Result = +5, +7, +8, HD on 7W (AB4A) CLEAR!
Other observations:
(i) TM6800HD with both 679p and 688p does not display any EPG on +5, +6, +7, +8, HD on 7W. But a TM9100 displays the EPG on the same channels/sat/frequency.
(ii) TM6800HD with both 679p and 688p does not recognise the Viaccess stream on +5, +6, +7, +8, HD on 7W (it only recognises Irdeto and Keyfly), so I guess also a Viaccess card will not clear these channels on this sat with the internal card reader.
Conclusion = This is definetly an issue with both 679p and 688p firmware.
I just hope that those who bring out these patches read this forum and release a fix for this. Of course I cannot contact Technomate because I am assuming that the official firmware does not recognise Irdeto cards.
load the 688 from the official website
http://www.technomate.com/software_updates.php?model=TM-6800+HD+Super and see what channels with that card go open?
If some open you could contact either your Technomate vendor or Technomate directly.
the card reader reads different standards of cards (can't confirm it would read that irdeto 2 card? But it seems to read, otherwise the channels would not open with that card)

I will do like that. If I remember well in the manual they only mention Conax but I will check myself.

I have installed the official 688 firmware (downloaded from the Technomate site) and the results are the same like with the patched firmware. So, the TM6800-HD can officially read the JSC Irdeto card but has issues with those 4 channels on 7W. I have now sent an email to Technomate and reported to them the issue. I will keep you updated once I receive a reply.
