Hi all,
Just managed to get 8281 working (after a fashion). I set my tm6900hd combo up with a test acct from a premium server. The details provided allowed me to connect (shown in the 8281 menu) but the picture was unwatchable. It kept freezing every few seconds. The picture was frozen about as much as it was working (ie off on off on). I tried connecting to sly uk on 28e and freextv (etc) on 13e. Both were the same.
So could you please say whether you've been successful with this and also whether you're in a private syndicate or premium server or in fact a free server.
I don't believe this question infringes forum rules.
Look forward to seeing the replies.
If nobody seems to have it going I'll stop wasting my time.

Hi there!
My experience with CS is that it doesnīt work for me. I tried to cennect to some free servers for testing and to some servers I could connect to others not (although they should work). I suppose the source for my problem are blocked ports by my provider. Even if I would open them in my router the provider is blocking all ports anyway. Not sure why I could connect to some servers but I didnīt get a picture- not even once for a second. I also donīt know anyone who could give me some 100% working CS address to test but as mentioned earlier- it doesnīt work for me...
Cheers,
DJ

I don't have this receiver but do have a Technomate that can do some cs via sssp
I have tried all encryptions using free servers
eg
Nargravision ok
viaccess ok
seca ok
These below i tried on many occasions with the same result.
conax failed
cryptoworks failed
irdeto failed
nd$ failed

6900 hd super combo
I use a private server with 8 ports for 8 different packages, which is very inexpensive. I should add that I am a personal aquaintance of the person who runs it and he will not let anybody onto it who he does not know and trust. The 6900 can only connect to 4 at a time. When requiring a different encryption for a different package, I just have to change the port number to that particular encryption. Works 100% except for s** which breaks up every 9 seconds for 1 second while it aquires the new code. Other than the odd problem with my ISP connection, which is not the fault of the TM, I have had a good experience with it.

@johntee50
what patch version do You use??
Thanks,
DJ

I use the latest patch 688p. With this patch there are lots of connection boxes shown, but only the first 4 work, that is 1-4. The others will not connect. This may be a hardware limitation. I've been trying to find out but no luck so far.
Regards, JT.
EDIT I should add that for me, 8281 has worked with all the patches since the feature was introduced. It took a bit of trial and error to get it to work at first, but once I sussed out the various settings it worked well.

Thanks johntee50.
You have the super version- without plus??
@all:
after trying around with CS I can say for sure that:
1) If you are a client only you donīt have to have open ports- thatīs for a server necessary only
2) Older patch versions (for exammple 670) work better in my case with CS than newer versions but I still have the problem that I have exactly 13seconds picture and after that exacly 17 seconds no picture- than again picture, no picture..... With version 688 I had picture for a few seconds and then it was gone- till I made a restart or reconnected again.
Now when CS works fine for johntee50 what do we (me and joany and maybe others) have made different??
I have tried patch 688 (like johntee50 has), I have the same model (TM6900 Super). So what else could be the problem?
Any ideas??

No, not the plus, just the super. When you say you don't have to open ports, do you mean in your router ? You have to put a port number into the settings on your TM to connect to the server that you are downloading the codes ( keys ) from. In 688p there is a caids setting. I set mine on auto and leave it at that. I have a good internet connection with a good router. Could your router settings be slowing your data transfer, eg firewall, packet inspection etc ?
I can't say why mine works well and yours doesn't as there are so many variables. I'll help as much as I can, but be careful what you ask as this is a risky subject.

Thanks for Your support!
With the open port I mean that the same port number I type into the CS menu doesnīt have to be opened in my router. I mean I can have a "lowid" (hopefully You understand what I mean by that) and that doesnīt make a difference while connecting. That all deals with port forwarding and I mean I can be passive while connecting and donīt have to open up the port number to which Iīm connecting. So for example when I connect to port 5000 I donīt have to open up port 5000 in my router.
By the way I have a dlink router
Will try to confirm the port issue, was under the impression when ports where set I could make the connection (TCP with UDP). Test was done with TM-6900HD Combo Super on italian scy:
8 2 8 1 Ethernet (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=114462) <= click to see here
Ethernet 100 Mbps cabled connection home network with ADSL / modem 3mbps down / 384 kbps up.
it is important, to clean out the not used fields where you can. on the server list and filter pages.
@johntee
but only the first 4 work, that is 1-4, Yes only the first 4 work.
After testing on ART 13°E with viaccess on newcamd 5.25: I can confirm the portforwarding is not needed on C S client like the 6900HD Super.
Freezes: some channels have freezes others not. Think this is related to these issues:
server and number of clients: popularity, time of day, the more user the more problems you can expect.
use of filter with 688p, avoid using auto. clean all not used filters on all the pages (blue button: FFFFFF)
use filter page with the given C A I D and find out the I D E N T for that channel and provider?
use different filter page for different package? have only the connection active that you need.
remove official subscription card before switching to C S channel, could make a difference?
let us know if this improves the situation.
included 0:04:00 clip with no freezes:

Thanks for the replies.
@ Johntee - Thanks for the detailed reply. I wondered, if most of your syndicate are in the uk maybe the sly sub (connection) is being used more than the others and maybe the reason for the freezing.
It seems apparent that as it stands, unless you're in a very small syndicate its gonna suffer from freezing.
One thing I did find was that my original networking setup connected my stb to the router via a wireless game adaptor and the picture was freezing all the time. Just to test the system I replaced this link with a cat5 cable and the freezing mostly stopped. I'm off on my jollys tomorrow but gonna pick this up again when i return.
Keep (your experiences) the posts coming.... BUT DON'T FORGET - No technical discussion on how to do it as this is not allowed on this forum.
Looks like WiFi is a NO NO, and surely you mean:
Technical discussion on CS is ok
3) no discussion of any SKY TV hacks , or cable tv hacks , dboxes or any cable equipment whatsoever or of any forums that have that information on them
...
9) NO card share server requests.
Please do not post requests for card sharing servers etc
Any requests will be removed and the ppl involved banned.
Technical discussion on CS is ok

Yes you're right. I guess what I meant was that this is a very sensitive area (and maybe a little grey) so be careful with the wording. And no requests or links to cs servers. If moderators are watching maybe you could guide us if we start to infringe forum rules.

@Giga
in how far is it necessary to set the CAID and IDENT?? If I put the details to this menu in how far is it going to be filtered?? What does this option do at least?
Thanks,
DJ
It should limit the requests, decrease processing time as these are directed to the correct server? My understanding in short: when caid & ident <=> this server

What I found out is that after the picture freezes it takes a couple of seconds till the picture returns. But if I change the channel and return to the viewed channel agian the picture is there again- without waiting several seconds. So I suppose it has to be a firmware or configuration issue.
