My Technomate is giving me a number of problems at the moment which could be the tuner or full memory problems.
When I blind scan sats for feeds new channels etc, lately I have started to lose programmed satellites.
Blind scan on Astra 28.2 East produces the following problem at about 60% scan progress before switching to high band the scan goes back to approx 50% and scans the same channels over and over again.
This only happens on the one satellite others are OK!
Today I performed a factory reset I have also deleted all dead transponders to free up memory "problem still occurs"!
When I bought the receiver one of the Feet on the base was missing and the supplier produced a quick fix.
I have always suspected something is not quite right?
Is this a tuner problem or memory can anyone help?
Thanks
Ed

sound like a typical 6900 problem, chuck it back at them for a replacement, or better still ,get a refund and a decent box,.

@eddieaok
blindscanning on an existing satellite position creates double transponders and channels (TV & Radio), it is not really intended for feed hunting. It is intended for adding new satellites to your existing list.
there several ways to what you want:
finding new transponders:
make an empty channel list with the satellites you want to blindscan: Blindscan.zip
feed hunting
make new satellite locations in your channellist specific for feedhunting: FeedHunting.zip

some ways to achieve this: Clarke Tech Studio (step by step) (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=110802) <= click here

included 2 zip files so you can see what i try to explain. These are for multi-feed setup.

you only have 10.000 positions for TV & Radio channels together. This means you could perhaps blindscan up to 8 satellites on an empty blindscan channel list.

@drahcirk, not because you have bad luck with this receiver or it does not live up to your expectations, you don't have to take down this receiver!

Any other questions on this issue, feel free to ask them here, will try to find an answer for you.
I have this receiver since february 2009.
if you have more specific problems on 28.2°E send me a PM, I forward you my e-mail where you can e-mail me your channel list and I try to figure out what is going on on that position?

Hello giga
good afternoon that is a nice way to explain
But I must say by doing blind scan the memory often get full it happen to me quite often,i had to reset the receiver and delete what i could, like satellite position that i never use or some double channels like close frequences lot of them on 13 east, also sometime some close sat position cause to download some channels that you don't need,i guess a blind search it is ok for a few sat ,otherwise the memory get full, but i do mine manualy scan what i can and put a new tip if needed
But its quite right what you explain
I hope our friend solve his problem I know the feelings
regards dxman

no it does not, other users already confirmed this and are happy using it.

In Blind Search, when pressing the Red button the Blind Search will search all satellite positions in your satellite list. It is only when you select the [press ok] and confirm this with the remote OK button it will only blind search the selected satellite in the left kolon with the options you selected in mode.

Thanks all for your very informative replies.

I have found that the latest patch with ******** analyser clashes with the blind search function leading to the problems I mentioned.

Performed factory reset and loaded different channel list.
Tested blind scan on 28-2 same result at 0700 to 18000 V ok then searching horizontal reached 18000 and kept looping back to 0700?
I tried creating a new sat 28.2 the same problem happened.
I will PM you so I can send channel list.

you got PM with my e-mail address.
Don't understand what you mean with at 0700 to 18000 V? The 0700 is that a transponder frequency?
In what menu are you doing the blind search?
Can you explain step by step?
I do blind search:
Main menu
Installation (left side)
Blind Search (right side)
select satellite (left side) (28.2°E)
on the right side:
TP:10700 - 12750

If you have a universal LNB:

Universal LNB

A universal LNB can receive both polarisations (Vertical and Horizontal) and the full range of frequencies in the satellite Ku band. Some models can receive both polarisations simultaneously (known as a quattro LNB and used with a multiswitch) through four different connectors Low/Hor, Low/Ver, High/Hor, High/Ver, and others are switchable (using 13 volt for Vertical and 17 or 18 volt for Horizontal) or fully adjustable in their polarisation (this is relatively rare as this requires a separate polarisor, and it's also not part of the Universal LNB specification).

Here is an example of Universal LNB specifications:
LO: 9.75 / 10.6 (or rarely 10.75) GHz (the 10.6 GHz Oscillator is selected by applying a 22 KHz tone to the cable)
Freq: 10.7 - 12.75 GHz (slightly wider for 10.75 GHz LOs)
NF: 0.7 dB (The Best LNBs have claimed values as low as 0.1 but it's unlikely that this is a true and reliable value)
Polarisation: Linear
In Europe Ku band is used from 10.7 to 12.75 GHz, this means you can not scan outside these limits: 10700 - 12750.

I have a new Technomate 6900 HD Super + Combo and am having problems when trying to add a new transponder when in Advanced Search. As soon as I add the first digit of the number the receiver goes into re-boot. I have had it working just once, The same problem occurs in Blind search when hitting the red button. A similar thing used to occur on my old Echostar in advanced search and found this was a memory problem. Just as a precaution I deleted as many channels as I could in the TM and it has now only got less than a third of the permitted 10,000 channels.

I thought about saving the channels to a memory stick but can't find how to safely download them from the TM onto the stick without then having to do a factory reset. As I am happy with what I have so far, Factory Reset is a "last resort".

One last query....how do I delete satellites that I do not want, from the menu?

2 hours later and now getting somewhere instead of deleting Channels to free up mem i found a way in Advance Search to delete unwanted Tp's
after removing a few the advance search is now working ............this TM was supplied pre-programmed with more than the default 1500 channels, thus must have had more TP's installed, me trying to add more filled up the memory.

I would still like to know how best to use the USB Memory stick in the PVR to make a backup safely and how easy is it to then reload this on to the TM

having problems when trying to add a new transponder when in Advanced Search. As soon as I add the first digit of the number the receiver goes into re-boot. I have had it working just once, The same problem occurs in Blind search when hitting the red button.

remove not used satellite positions
blind search and red button scans all satellite positions. Blind search is only used for a new satellite with no transponders.
you want add a transponder: use PID Search
█: Add TP then
█ Scan that transponder.

I thought about saving the channels to a memory stick but can't find how to safely download them from the TM onto the stick without then having to do a factory reset.
use a FAT32 formated USB Stick
press USB button on remote (left above menu button)
Data Transfer Menu: █ copy channellist to USB stick.

One last query....how do I delete satellites that I do not want, from the menu?
Main Menu
Installation
Satellite Setup
select the satellite you want to remove
keep it selected (Orange color)
█ Delete (Satellite)

I would still like to know how best to use the USB Memory stick in the PVR to make a backup safely and how easy is it to then reload this on to the TM
could you clarify this more? PVR (Personal video recorder)
backup safely? what?
reload what on the TM?

Organizing the Channel list, Favorite List, Satellite's and Transponders is easiest done with the Clarke Tech Studio (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=110802)

If you lay Network cable to the TM include a serial null modem, makes life a bit easier.
Always make a copy of your current Channellist, keep it organized so you can fall back to this current channellist when you lose a channellist and you have to redo all the work you done on it. When finished editing the channel list save as a new file on the computer and make a copy to the backups beofre you copy it to the USB stick

Hi Giga thanx for all your help

What I mean by PVR is the message that pops up on the screen when I put a Mem Stick in the front USB port (message is - usb port is enabled PVR ready) Thats Okay.........

Back up... I mean making a copy of My settings/Channels etc incase I have to start from scratch at sometime and put them on a mem stick (How ? the manual talks about a cable connection to your computer which in my case is far away!) Techno help line gave me instructions but in practice there is no files to be seen with coloured dots on?

The Reload I refer to is the 688P (1Aug09)which I think is an updated version of 688 for some fixes

Regards Gray

PS... all problems with "TP out of mem" have been fixed by removing unwanted and dead Transponders from the receiver...now advance Search works great
(I was going at it the wrong way by removing unwanted channels....lol)
Looks like the Technomate TM6900HD Super combo is a good receiver once you give it a chance. Having used an Echostar AD3000IP and just cams and cards for over six years theres a lot to learn!

the colour dots refer to the coloured buttons on the remote and the info on the bottom of the screen:
http://i654.photobucket.com/albums/uu270/Jan_Gruuthuse/03softcamkey.jpg

when you press the RED button the channel file is created on the USB stick if that one is selected device.
