Will blue ray work in non blue ray

HI i received 3 spider man blue rays dvd ( as a gift for a mag sub) .. i tried in my ordinary home cinema and they did not read..
would i assume thats correct.... before i give them away!

Blu-Ray discs will not play in a normal DVD player, that is correct.

What would be the point in Blu-Ray players if they worked, apart from the improved quality. :beatdeadhorse5:

You could play a DVD in a Blu-Ray player but not the other way round. Nothing You could do to play it only a blu-ray player...
