My 8K full of MKV movies :D they require huge amount of space :D
We can watch Full 1080p Movies Now ! WOW
1.5-2 TB HDD :D will suit you...

I`m not sure the 8000 is expensive compared to receivers in the past.

My Echostar 3000ip back in 97/98 cost me £460 that equates to £585 now, and you get a lot more receiver with the 8000.

Tested 3 diferents slim Sata dvdrw's, all 3 working !
For Bluray, we must wait for Bluray Linux Drivers, i don't know if someday we will get them.

Jesus really? Thought you'd be able to record 2 and watch something of hard drive. Or watch one and record another. With 2 tuners, didn't think you could record 4 channel at once.

HDD needed for - permanent timeshift recording, EPG ... that's about it.
Buy a CF card for other stuff - icons for the channels, switching images (BarryAllen)

i bought my dm box 8000 in jan 09 and it is the best yet.try easy image to use like nabilo.make sure you get hard drive and dvd.it is easy to set up and operate.enjoy

Welome abord, I would go strait for Ozzoon in flash and then barry allan on a cf card with nabilo (I use just ozzoon) follow dubious post for the ozzoon setup.

get backhole v12 on it, you get full epg on it which you can download everyday so it upto date. Not had a problem with mine, had maybe 1 or 2 crashes in 2 months, have a 1.5TB HDD installed and been running mkv's from it :)

Great box, this is my 1st and i need another linux box for the bedroom but not spending this much on a box for the bedroom. Might get a DM500 or DM600 then again might get a DM800, lol.

I will be having 2 tuners on sky dish and 1 on 1m motorised.

What image did you go for in the end mate?

Any problems at all? Lot of money to splash out
but think it's the best box on the market for what i want.

My experience with the 8000 has been wonderful, and I thought that the 7000 was good.

Switching between tuners is transparent unless you are moving the dish, then you get a pause until the dish stops.

I have Oozoon in the flash, and have just put it on the CF card as well, being a CVS image its updated every day or so, CCcam works well though it takes a little work to install
