0) I installed it, after renaming it to patch.bin, putting it on a USB stick and... ;)

Didn't perform the "clean install", i.e. without "formatting the application area". I just did it on top of - or should I say beside- everything that was in already...

It took quite a while to reboot after the install...

When it did:

1) I disabled all EMUs/PLUG-INS by putting # sign in front of them.

2) Home -> Plug-ins -> OpenXCAS -> Download Executable -> azboxworld link didn't have the newest MultiCAS to download and install and neither did islaremota or stalitesinfo -> so I got out...

3) FileZilla -> deleted the old and then put in the newest MultiCAS module and openxcas.conf, gave CHMOD to 755 to the module and rebooted....

4) Activated MultiCAS by removing # in front of it, went to Camd Setup -> MultiCAS -> Smartcard Interface -> Card Splitter & CS to check I am connected to my peer's servers [login successful! :D], went out [Exit] -> it asked me if I want to log into all the servers... and took it out for a spin... :D

5) Still necessary to press the OK button on your remote to get to the channels list [not good!]...

6) French package [19'E] opened but it was stumbling at first... Then it was OK. :)
Spanish one [19'E] had hiccups, too. Both were slow to open, sadly! But worked OK after the initial hiccup or two! So far so good!
Total TV [16'E] was faster to open and worked fine. My Croat subtitles kicked in nicely. All fine!
Albanian package is also cool. C+NL was fine, too. Opening faster. Stable.
On 28'E [guess which package :D] some hiccups but that was to be expected. Worked, though and for my tastes - just about watchable... If sub-t is activated one can follow it well enough, I think.
Thor C+ was cool!
Etc. etc.
It's just a quick test but it seems fairly good at this point.
Mbox will be tested a bit later....

7) YouTube: U2 at Rose Bawl was great! ;)

8) Oh, yeah, forgot to check the Settings for novelties: Internet LAN speed is the SAME as before, sorry... Not good!
TV Channel -> IP channels -> 2 modes: HTTP [go down to TV Type -> move to the right > you get Kartina TV and you see the example, how to add more IP TV channels] and UDP. One can add details via remote and Save. Really cool!!! Getting better!

9) Streaming from PC to AZbox HD was difficult, whatever I tried, Movies or Music: first to recognise the workgroup/home network - I had to reboot - and i still wouldn't kick in. I must reboot the laptop, as well and see...

10) FTP -> as before "fail to connect error"...

11) RSS works but VERY slow... Bad!!! Btw, couldn't play media - "you do not have the correct version of flash player", as before...

12) Browser: slow... As above, of course... Plus, the cursor is on the LEFT side of the letter you just typed in, as you wanna put in a link to go to. Ridiculous! It works like that, too but... Press OK -> you do not go to the link but to the GO button, so one more press on OK needed. Unnecessary, it seems...
One can to YouTube from the browser [next to gmail, if you are in Google page] -> tried playing Ibrahimovic's goal and
Excruciatingly slow to load he page!!! It cannot do it - "Object"... Go to Adobe site and try to install it... Hehe... Oh, well... Too much to ask for - still... Hmmm... Nada! Nextttt... [It worked in YouTube Player, of course...]

13) It feels better! :) We'll see later on, when I have more time and reboot my lappy - for transferring and streaming... ;)

My first impressions/testings:

Zapping is definetly faster!!!!!!

SD to SD (FTA): 0.8 - 1 sec (before maybe 1.5 sec)
HD to HD (FTA): 1 - 1.2 sec cause image coming (before maybe 2 sec)

Tests made with channels on same satellite and with channel up/down button or back button.

Menu zapping seems also little faster than before.

Bitrate limitation seems to be away! Have a test file here, which never had been played on azbox, and on PC only with freezers. Now on Azbox playing same as on PC!! Sound also no problem!!

This firmware seems to be best so far!!

Go on Opensat!!

This needs improving, Opensat! [I presume it's them, not Blu!]

16'E -> Total TV -> RTS 1 and 2 -> 7 day EPG IS WORKING without the plugin!!!! How come, Blu? What's the difference, would you know?

I think I still see the same problem in the channel list.

After I add a new scheduled recording (from TV press Menu, schedule recording), exit the recording menu, back to my TV, and afterwards open the channel list by pressing OK, I only get the first channel in my list. The rest of the list is empty, until I perform a reboot.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Also I still have the same audio hickups in The Boat That Rocked 720p mkv when I play via DTS.

Well hats off to opensat zap speed is now on a par with dreamboxes.
Dont actually think it could be any quicker on fta channels

At the moment this box is almost perfect.
just need fully functional epg.

and as for multicas
just needs a few additions like ignore list and more cline control like hop restrictions.

for the price this box is now tremendous value for money and beats all competitors hands down

5 seconds for me using channel up/down, or 3 seconds using the channel list. Previously was 8 seconds and 4 seconds.
For example BBC1 to BBC2 on 28 east. The speed includes waiting for sound & vision on the new channel.

Maybe it's because I am using an AV amp?

Guys all I can say is that we are one the verge of perfection with this ***y box. I am using the latest MultiCAS that was released D07 and this new firmware, the results are amazing.

Fast channel changing and decoding, no freezes or glitches wow.

I don't think it's possible, only by internet or USB.

In the setting mode, you have in "Firmware Upgrade" the options "Internet", "USB" and "Ethernet".
In Ethernet says "coming soon!", so it doesn't work.

In dreambox you can send the firmware to /tmp and install from there.

I just install from USB without format or data reset, no problems so far.
I always backup /DISK2 and /PLUGINS, if something goes wrong I can always format application area, install firmware again, do a data reset and copy my backup to azbox.

OKI, I just did a fresh re-installation - everything from scratch, with deleting everything I could, first via remote and then formatting the apps area.

This time I downloaded most plug-ins [Mbox, NewCS, MGcamd, MultiCAS and SCDXCas] from the net, directly into AZbox HD. Home -> Plug-ins -> red button to add plug-in -> azboxworld.com.

Once you install OpenXCAS it's easy, as you get them all from azboxworld.com. Most stuff worked. Mbox config didn't! I had to edit various files manually: both openxcas.conf, module.seq and mbox cfg - just correcting the names and module info, like so...

The good thing with MultiCAS - one can sort it out via remote, no need for a PC to set your CS up, as CCcam client! Not bad!

Mind, this time I did it using Telesat's MultiCASedit 1.3. First, I had to go to Control Panel and uninstall the older version, reboot my PC, install the new one and then it worked...

Click on the first line, then paste the C line at the bottom of the first tab [in between "C:" and "no", then repeat for each C line, by clicking on the next available free space under...] and Save - it created splitterdata.bin file.

Mbox is flying. Even N D S is working well now, from Dist. 2 or 3!!! Just comparing MultiCAS with Mbox now... They are pretty close now, in terms of performance, even on N D S_UK... Slight and short freezes but that is to be expected with that CAS.

[Mind, first I had to re-create my DynDNS account, as it was killed. One needs to log into their website regularly, as they delete accounts where this doesn't happen - without warning!]

Yeah, it seems like a definite improvement.

Btw, if anyone now says they "wait for a channel to open something like 8 seconds..." - well, they should be shot [at]!!!!:cup-006: Rotten eggs as weapons!!! :smilielol5:And some equally rotten tomatoes!! Maybe a skunk ought to be deployed, too... :respect-056: :party:

-Photos: way too many messages of the "Error! Photo file is too big. Please make image thumbnail" type... Screw that! And sometimes even the small ones could be a problem, once it starts "making thumbnails"...

-Home -> FTP - nada!

-RSS and Internet Browser are very slow indeed...

FTP from PC as Client working as always like a Charme, but Speed could be much better. FTP Server on Box never used.
Streaming PC-AZ works like bevor, also Filebrowser. Picture I dont use because its more buggy then nogolist.

Zappingspeed...hehehe....its now fast and near to Dreambox(DMM under 1 Second-AZHD 1-1,5 Seconds)
Youtube, not all working but most are OK again.
Mbox running like a Charme again, on 3501 there was freeze sometimes and only get them away with restart mbox from Plugins(not from PC, this is NOT working!!)

For the Rest I had no Time to test, must work now.

First Impression is a good Improvement and a Step forward, but there are a lot of construction zone left.

For Inadyn, that a look in your Networksettings.
If you must know the syntax, take any Inadyn from Dreambox, its the same, and it works like a Charme on AZHD, since Month for me.
But I use No.ip and not dyndns(because Abuse is a little bit cracy on dyndns com)

Dyndns is not working for me as well. Always error.

Im not at home, so I cant look for now, but if you take a inadyn from Dreambox, its the same.

Take a look on this Site, its explained for all Services:

If you take wrong syntax, it cant work. In Disk2 you will find a Data namend inadyn.conf or any simular. You can edit this by Hand, better then Remote :)

just to give my info regarding this. latest multicas and firmware. No locals.

Zapping is around 2 secs for most channels, thats fta and others.

The only exception is Nova Sports, these take around 5-8 secs depending if you get the "scrambled" message.

Nice to see it working.
Think about to backup your Data in Disk2 named inadyn.conf
You need only this one for to activate it again after a clean Install.
Put it in Disk2 again, go to Settings and activate, all there and working

I tried some 1080p m2ts files which are extracted from blurays . They have dolby hd audio . when you play m2ts files the sound becomes intermittently and also video too . And also m2ts file contains some subtitles but there is no subtitle selectable .

I had problems with it and then i removed my card and my matrix reloaded,and the channels loaded a lot faster,also other channels that first didn't open,open after removing the others cards.

I don't know what was fixed here because it doesn't work for me.


One of the most annoying things is that the box crashes when playback a recorded HD movie. It can happen after 15 minutes or half an hour that everything freezes and the box has to be rebooted.
I've noticed that problem since last firmware. :banghead:


Am I really the only one? Who's got that kind of problem too?

For mere mortals like myself can any one give me some idea if Opensat/Azbox will be putting the updates on to the internet soon using 3501 at the moment.

Tried the link to down load patch bin half an hour later give up must be honest the internet is the easy option for those of us less experienced.

Unlike most of you with cams etc which seem to be getting allot better theres alot out there waiting for the posability of blind search, probably a long wait.

But from where can i safely down load the necessary file to give it a try last night tried a web site that was on a members reply about the very same subject and as i said after an half an hour give up as it only loaded about 10% .
I suppose in an ideal world OpensatAzbox would/should be doing all this for us pessants.

Since I put this firmware 0.9.3661 by sudden I am loosing the signal on all satelites. The only way to fix it is to unplug the power cord. A simple reboot won't help.

Has anybody else seen this before?

But after a while my MultiCAS as a CCcam client gets frozen, even on Viaccess....
