It should be ok, I'm seeing BBC HD. The USB stick or memory key is only a means of transferring files (patch, channellist) to and from the receiver to the computer. The recording is a great feature if you want to take the recording form the receiver on to your computer.
I'm using an old 32 Mb usb stick for file transfer. If you want to make recordings 4 or 8 GB would do for a couple of hours recording.

Hope this answers your question, or did this raise some more?

see you

tnks for reply ., giga.. yes 2 questions
1. shall i get a 6800 in prefference to the 6900/ as mentioned i dont want free view and wont record anything..
2 . to get BBC HD ,, would you view it just by downloading the frequency.....assume that applies for itv hd also AND NOTHING ELSE,

bbc and itv HD are both free , as is LUXE tv HD too , so almost any HD box should get them

I would say you should give the new spiderbox 9000HD a serious looking at as compared to the older tm6800

1. if that is all what you want to do with the TM-6800 HD, it should do the job.
2. yes and maybe just renaming the channel name for ITV-HD. There only 2 TV stations on that transponder: 11426.00 H SR 27500 DVB-S (QPSK) - 27500 2/3 - NID:59 - TID:2315
Brit Shorts TV and a numbered channel name

I watch the 'freesat' HD bbc & itv on 28°E & all the other fta HD channels on all the 'other' satellites. Pity conax went off on the diablo - there was some cracking HD stuff on 1°W - all watchable on my Technomate 6900 Super HD combo - also have a 500gig harddrive plug in for recording, pvr etc.
