TM6900 Super - Adding A Transponder Problem?

Hi there,

I have a problem started with adding a new transponder...

I go to Menu > Advanced Search > Add TP (Green Button) then where it says Transponder as soonn as I enter the first number the screen switches back to normal TV (freeview) and then back to the satellite again so it won't let me add a transponder?

I have added a couple before doing it this way with no problem but now it won't let me it just switches over to tv then back to satellite again as soon as you press a number on the transponder line

Any ideas?

Do you have the same problem, doing it in PID search? most likely out of memory for transponders? Do you have a motorized setup? any satellite positions you don't use or receive? remove these and see if this helps. Are you listening to sat radio, no? remove radio channels.

this is a very typical problem from the theconmate
too many channels ,memory full
like Giga explain delete what you can ,transponders that you don't use radio and sat position,if you had used blind scan to many times it will fill your memory,I had this issue so many times
13 east and 1 west usualy they got more o less some tips with the same channels look for those too
delete what you can ,then try again

no not an ON, CB in the 70's. did ever a dx call from my car to Lake Michigan, those where the days, others tried to break in with antennas on a 25 meter pylon, 5 km away from me, no way they could in. When it became legal, the fun was out of it.

Yes it has the same problem with PID search & I have a motorised setup using DiSEqC 1.2 (Hispasat to Turks@t)

I have only added a couple of frequencies myself when football has been on from a feed, but I think my Dad has done some blind searches on satellites!

Would a Blind Search Duplicate Frequencies? or does is skip the ones that are already there?

Hi Phil
Before you do a blind scan you should delete all the channels from that list
go to menu edit channels,then select delete channel,right hand side click ok if you want delete some or info to all,exit and save,go back to the menu select blind search,and it will start the scan,as for the radio ,you should select the radio button to do this,or if you want you can,go system setting select factory settings it will ask a pin ,just put 0000 then ok,then select delete radio channels if you want to delete the lot,press ok

then all done,I would not advice a blind search for every satellite ,otherwise you finish to have a memory full again

before blind search i would only select tv only,that will skip the radio when you scan
any way to get more space you can delete channels for other sat position in the same way

Charlie Bravo was very good in the 70 and the 80, I did use it ,but then I came here and became difficult here in the uk as they where using the legal funny mappets

Yes it duplicates sometimes transponders.
Blindscan is only used when you have a new satellite with unknown transponders.

How do you remove Radio Channels? We Never Listen To The Radio Through the Satellite
Use top left button on remote to switch to radio mode.
press the SAT button on remote
select All Satellites
go in the menu
Edit Channels
Delete Channels
press Info : Delete All Channels button on remote.

Removing the radio channels is maybe not enough to clear the transponder space.
Maintenance on satellites channels is easiest done by Auto Navigation see page 20 of the manual. Don't use the colored buttons ● or ●on the remote for this! Select satellites on the left, switch to right menu and select these options:
Search Type: TV
Network Search: Off
Scan when selected press OK on remote.
adding Transponder or update the transponder use Pid Search

Removing satellites not used or no reception: use Clarke Tech Editor Studio

if your in to Feed Hunting: create new satellite locations and only give the feed transponders for these and not the regular TV channel transponders. Then using Auto Navigation to search these transponders for any activity. This will go much faster as you don't scan the regular TV channels.

Allways make a backup of a channellist before working on these:
USB key on remote
Data Transfer
● upload channel to usb stick

Hi there,

I deleted all Radio Channels but this didn't make much difference.

I downloaded the channel list onto a usb memory stick and opened it up in Clarke Tech Editor Studio.

It shows that there are 8695 Channels and 1800 Transponders & there are a lot of Red Transponders - should I delete all the red ones & then load it back onto the receiver?

If you are still in the default settings: yes the red transponders are empty.
The most easy way to do this: in the Modify menu
Select option
Select
Select Transponders without Channels
all empty transponders are selected now including these for Terrestrial Radio, these are at the back of the transponder list marked with a T.
with the bottom window slider go the end of that list.
press the [Ctrl] on the keyboard and keep it pressed down!
If your right handed with a left mouse click deselect these transponders!
All marked transponders show dark blue background.
Once you deselected the terrestrial transponders Right mouse click on the selected transponders.
In the pop-up menu select Delete
in the following popup: choose Selected, all empty sat transponders are now gone.

next you can go to the Satellite window
right mouse click on this window
in the pop-up Order
follow on pop-up By Polar Arc
all satellites are now sorted by position, you can now delete unwanted satellites. As I understand you only have reception for satellites from 3°E to 30°W.
If the satellites before 42°E are still in black, they still have transponders allocated. You have to remove the transponders first!
Take note of the satellite number before the one on 42°E
go back to the transponder window.
Right click on that window
in pop-up: Order
folowing pop-up: By Satellite

go now to the Channel window
Right mouse click
Order
Satellite-Name
select the first channel of satellite one
with bottom slider goto the last channel of the satellite number you noted
press [Shift] and hold it down and with a left mouse click select that channel. All channels from 1 to that position you marked are now selected.
press the [Delete] on your keyboard: all these channels are erased.

goto Transponder window
Mark the 1st transponder of the first satellite
press Shift and keep it down select the last transponder of the satellite you noted
press delete: all the selected transponders are deleted.

goto Satellite window
mark 1st satellite and with [Shift] left mouse click select the satellite just in front of the one on 42°E. press Delete All satelittes above 42°E are now deleted.

right click on this window and sort by Polar Arc again
Using a similar method you can now remove the satellites out of reach in the West.
goto the satellite on position 30°W and note the following satellites number (30°W number +1)
goto to Channel window
order by Satellite-Name
goto the first channel on the satellite number you noted
press together on the keyboard these keys [Shift] [End]
all channels are marked from that position to the last one
use the bottom slider to go to the end of that list
and unselect the terrrestrial channels with the [Ctrl] key pressed down. When these are deselected press [Delete]

goto the Transponder window
select the first transponder of the satellite number you noted.
press together [Shift] [End]
with the bottom slider got to the end of that list and deselect the terrestrial transponders marked by T (pressing Ctrl and holding it and left mouse click) when these are deselected press delete.

goto Satellite window
in the top of the list: select now the empty satellites before 42°E and press [Delete]
in the bottom of the list: select now the empty satellites after 30° W and press [Delete]
right click now on the window
order by polar arc
all satellites on East position are on top
goto bottom of the list and select all the remaining satellites on the west position;
select the first one, press shift and keep it down and select the last satellite in that section. All satelites in west position are now selected.
With a right mouse click and holding it: drag the selected satellites up to the last position of the ones in the East position.

Clean up the Channel window: right click on it and sort by Satellite-Name
Clean up the Transponder window: right click on it and sort by Satellite

sorry a very lengthy explanation for some simple windows commands.
You should now have room to create new satellites with only feed frequencies on it for fast auto navigation on these with a reduced search time.
adding transponder on any satellite use pid search.

Almost: make a new satellite like 28.5°E Feed and just enter the feed transponders on it. (Kos) website has on top for each position a .ini download.

you would only enter the feeds from position 93 downwards in the Feed satellites, later when you come across other feed frequencies you can add these with pid search to the relevant feed satellite.

partialy the TM can do some things without the diablo, (i'm not familiar with diablo) think you could filter in diablo the things out that the TM would do.

I can't Satellites with 000.0E because it won't let me delete

Are they just spare or can they be removed to tidy up, i noticed everytime you delete a satellite it changes to 000.0E

Ok.
If the 000.0 positions are in black, they have transponders allocated: these have to be empty to: remove the channels in these transponders.
If the 000.0 positions are in red, there are no transponders in these. drag these down the list out of your way.

How do I load the cleaned up file back onto the reciever via the usb memory stick?

with the usb stick:
press USB key on the remote
select Data Transfer
select the channel list with .CNDF extension in the File List window (Orange background colour)
Press OK on the remote
Select DB to save: Normal DB
Press OK on the remote
wait until it finished writing
that should be it
