Be careful what you are doing. Had to do a flash recovery procedure: null modem cable.

Lets hope Magic is watching THIS forum as this EPG prob could obviously be a mega prob - espec when trying to set up recordings from EPG etc?
Still sticking to new firmware for time being regardless however!:frown:

(Just tried setting up a recording from EPG and it 'seems' to go into that mode ok plus into 8281 ok too - anyone else? PVR ready still working ok for me - all recordings still there!)

stuck with the same problem: flash recovery failed with nasty message: Writting failed 0x6 while trying the Flash Recovery!
Will take it tomorrow to the local vendor and see if they can recover the flash or if it has to go to Technomate dealership locally or to UK. Can't open the box is sealed so don't know if the flash memory can be rewritten here or only in the UK. Will find out tomorrow.

once uv put version 7 on u cant get rid of it, tried a factory reset no good, lost my sat list now, get all channels banner and thats it, still cant get into 8281, not that i need to, but annoying,.

<Limitation>
* Once this new software has been downloaded, you cannot return back to the older versions of software.
The reason is that the new software was compressed to reduce the size of the flash memory.
So the boot loader was also changed in order to uncompress the software.
This new boot loader cannot accept the big size of old versions of software.
Another reason is that the data format and structures(channel memory, user settings and recorded file) are changed in this new version of software.
This new software can recognize and convert the old version of data format correctly, but the old version of software cannot recognize this new data structure.
Software is available to take your receiver back to older patches, but as softcams are drawing to a close, these patches and emulator updates are the future for our hobby

no, did not work, loaded the patch ok in the box, would not install it. box hangs in boot and will not write any patch in memory.

- Card+ is no longer there
- CAS menu is unstable (hangs)

Probably worth contacting the guys that released the patch to see if they have the sw to revert back.
I guess as with all the patches they will get developed.

When you press [SAT] on the remote you don't see the satellites?: Reload your channellist.

So you don't have a recent backup of your channel list? file with .ndf or .cndf extension.
Do you still have your channels? Then you go in to the Main Menu
Installation
Satellite Setup
In the satellite field select each satellite position you are using and press the Yellow ● on the remote.
Each saved satellite should now appear when you press [SAT]


If it is a motorized setup you could use this one for starters:

As for now i'm no longer able to test C S: Internet provider installed a VDSL2 Sagem F@st F3464. Good for speed, bad for C S firewall does not let pass C S protocol, have to look in this further.
primary testing (10 minutes) showed
- C A S to be very instable.
- smart+ card is no longer there or not functioning

my guess you would have more lines active.
Most likely I test a new patch, but not 7.00p
Future is bright: 1st have to solve the router issue.

Bit the bullet and installed the patch. All working except the epg bug. I don't use any cards, so I can't check that bit. All the connections in 8281 appear to be functional, big improvement for me. Not tried any recording yet, I'll keep at it and let you know.

CCcam tested and not working / my friend had 2 cline test and when trying to connect reciver just switch off on come on all info gone and no connection

I'm going to remove this patch and revert to an earlier firmware. The 8281 connection boxes keep changing the connection data into garbage ( wing dings ). The only way to get it working after that is to reinstall the patch and input all the data again. Hope there is a fix for this patch soon as it has some good aspects. Before anyone asks, yes, I am doing a factory reset and switching the power off for 30 seconds after installing the patch and add on.
