Top marks from Tele Satellite mag tests , has anyone tried one yet?

(Gold model) Probably the best LNB we have ever tested...

Just ordered one, unfortunately GW doesn't stock them so had to buy elsewhere... Ģ12.99 delivered

Will post results when I have chance to test it against my current Titanium 0.2. Not expecting any miracles, but every little helps, as they say in the Tesco adverts :)

Yea, they sound good, and a good price as well.
Can you say where you ordered it from? (without braking forum rules)

These look like they will be popular :)

Pretty much what they say in the review, was there much of a price difference?

Can you post your findings on here on how the LNB performs

I may get one also

Just finished fitting it (in the dark...) and I'm getting a 3-5% increase in signal strength pretty much across the ********, compared to my previous Titanium Smart 0.2, and improved quality. Was having some issues with a few HD channels on my DM800, but these have now disappeared.

Well made, shame it is yellow, but definately the dogs wotsits :respect-039:

A big thumbs up from me:king-041:

I wonder whether this LNB will outperform my current Smart Titanium 0.1?

@Ed, it won't be like upgrading from an 80cm to a 1.2m dish, but probably worth a punt for 13 quid...

Received mine this morning, and have just fitted it.
I was hoping it would improve things on 23.5E
I have been struggling with the channels on three transponders, 11995V, 12605H and 12605V.
The first I could get but with occasional break ups. The new LNB seems to have cured that, 2% extra strength, no change in quality, but no change on the the other 2 transponders.
The LNB I've replaced is an ***** 0.1DB so I suppose I shouldn't have expected too much of an improvement.

If you are in to electronics and have a spare LNB. Cooling down the LNB to -25° Celsius should improve a lot. Do the test with a can of Freeze Spray on an old LNB, should keep it cool enough for a couple of minutes. If the result is good, you could think of modding an old LNB with a Peltier cooler for this usage.

Hi
OT: Yep, in antartica itīs impossible but close to North Pole no problem.

And soon Santa will come from here :respect-applause-00

And thanks for mrbleu500 about this thread

Hi Giga.
Your not, by any chance, winding me up are you?
no not at all. Seen the DRDish test where the LNB was cooled down with an Freeze Spray.
just found the DR DishTV you tube clip (english) the gain could be around 6 db:
from the old LNB: I would open the LNB cover, drill a hole in the cover for the spray tube, just over the lnb component, place the cover back on.

:) Hello MrBleu and Satcat

Can you let me know where I can get this LNB for this price?

I have searched all over the Web without success :banghead:

Thanks

Answered my own query!
I have ordered one when I get it I will post my findings comparing it to my existing LNB based on 23.5 and 26 East channels.

See the improvement in signal strength, find it odd the quality drop? Did you have time to check skew? Perhaps using the graphic analyzer (● button while watching a channel)? and verify H vs V transponder and see if these are nearly equal?

Hi Giga M8

Skew is zero, are you referring to the graphic analyser in the Underworld Patch? I have a previous earlier patch!
LNB position is pushed as far into the holding arm bracket as possible (LNB closer to dish) I found this gives maximum signal with my Lenson Heath TD-88 dish. These results where with the existing smart titanium LNB!
The TM-1 may be different LNB further away from dish.

Skew is zeroMotorized dish? should be ok then.

are you referring to the graphic analyser in the Underworld Patch? No, from the patch 6.88p on, in the TM. Should also give you an indication on the LNB's performance, the more the blocks are up to the 255 level the better, if there is a sloped drop: not so good. you can check both polarities, lower and upper band.

Thanks Giga

Unfortunately I had to remove this patch and revert to an earlier one as problems were caused using blind scan I think brought up in other threads.

Hello Giga

I have problems with my router firewall settings which requires a firmware upgrade, therefore I am not using ethernet so no need to install 701 or 702.
The wife works from home and I dont want to risk her desktop IP settings.

Ive tried the twin version on a channel master 1.2

Results were it was no where near as good as inverto 0.3 lnb & seperate feedhorn

On mbc on 26 East it read as 30% where as inverto comes up at 42%

Will try it again over xmas holidays when ive got more time & if its better will post results

They need to put 26 cense more in each lnb to be better...for sure.

VERY disappointed with TM-1 Super high gain.
Compared with my old 0.6dB lnb with some weak signals I'm getting:
old 87/52, TM-1 71/43 and old 38/39, TM-1 29/29 !!!
I've tried focussing, and swapped them about to eliminate cabling / signal variations, and used different receivers - no joy.
Lenson Heath 80cm dish compatability problems??
I've emailed Technomate but no reply so far....

Giga
03-09-2010, 08:18 AM
Adjusting the dish? can imagine small variations between the 2 lnb's could cause this? as 1 mm difference could/would cause a signal difference?

01ga
04-09-2010, 06:25 PM
Hmmm. Can't say I found much difference when trying to focus it when moving it quite a few mm. Perhaps because it's faulty?
I'll have to investigate further.
No reply yet from Technomate. Since I'll probably be upgrading my receiver it will be interesting to see what their customer service is like.

if you have a friend with a 6900 HD Super, you could test the lnb by pressing the green button while viewing a channel?
this is what it should look like on 39°E:

No one I know of!
Thanks for the info Giga - I like the look of that satfinder.
I have retested and found:
a) can't match my old MTI AP8-XT2 0.6dB
b) very little change in signal for quite large movements (10mm+) back and forth. Or up/down, side to side!
I will return it to the seller and ask for a refund.

Not a peep from Technomate, but good customer service from PVS Satellite - refund given with no quibbles.
If I find a good replacement lnb I'll post here.
Thanks for the help / suggestions.
