I know it is satellite forum, but couldn't find relevant one for Cable ;)

I have AzBox HD, and i am about to purchase DVB-C Tuner so I can watch Cable channels. Also I have CI Slot in my TV (Panasonic V10), which might be other option for DVB-C viewing.

My Cable provider uses Conax and this is official set-top box I have:

But this is the most interesting part (english):
• CONAX CAS card reader payment channels to watch

They don't support any CI CAM's just official tuner (which is horrible), and they said that subscriber card and tuner are paired.

I want to find solution to watch SD and HD cable channels either on AzBox or preferably on TV. I know that there are probably some tricks how to emulate box id to simulate that pairing but not sure is that pairing on CAM level or Azbox/TV level?

I was searching for Conax CAM and I found two variants:

1) Conax NP4 Cam

This CAM allows your current digital receiver or IDTV to accept Conax smartcards for MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 broadcasts. With improvements in compression technology, digital satellite & terrestrial broadcasters are now choosing the MPEG-4 standard to deliver their services. Many have already done so, and many more will join them in the coming year. The advantages of MPEG-4 to MPEG-2 mean the broadcaster can deliver more channels, with better quality to their customers. With the MPEG-4 CAM, you can use your existing MPEG-2 receiver or IDTV to take advantage of these new & exciting services.

- PN : PRD-CON0-0410
- M:03 D:14/12/06
- Compatible with Conax MPEG-4/2
- Straight compatibility with MPEG-2 opened receivers (DVB-CI)
- Complete MPEG-4 decoder (AVC H264 Standard)
- Facilitates MPEG-4 broadcast
- Opens up DVD Home Cinema Quality
- Enables real VOD over IP

2) "Regular" Conax CAM

Can someone help me to find out is this possible at all and which CAM I will need and what is difference between them or any others Conax CAM's...

Thank you!
