The remote control also did not work for the firmware update menu?
In that case either something is wrong with the remote or with the azbox. In both cases your friend should go back to the reseller I think.

Are you able to operate with the buttuns on the box?

Also worth checking if you have a remote extender type thing plugged in (the sort of magic eye that lets you control the box from another room). When mine is plugged in and i use the remote the azbox does not see the commands. Unplug the extender and it works perfectly. Just a thought.

Make a DOM-format and update your box new.

One stupid question:
Have you tried replacing the batteries of the remote???
Do it and try the following: Set your mobile phone to the camera mode. Point the remote to the camera of the phone and look at the screen. If you see the infared light of the remote flashing then it works. If not then send the remote to the dealer.

Hello,
Simply open your Azbox and check the cable that come from the VFD display to the motherboard and check that it is fit right in the motherboard socket. May be remove and plug it again.

You said red-blue light???
Mine is just white (kinda blueish).
I think the remote is faulty. If you have a universal remote try with that and good luck.
