TomTom GPS Fix

Ive been having a problem recently getting the latest GPS fix update from the Tomtom server, using Tomtom home, it just says there was a problem with the server please try again later.. But its been like that for the last 3 or 4 weeks now..

My unit is a Tomtom One XL :driving:

Is anybody else having that problem???

Or does anybody know if there is another way to obtain the latest GPS fix???

I connected to the server last weekend and it was fine.

is youre software out of date just done a update for gps fix all ok.

try a reinstall of it and take the updates for home.

If I check for Tomtom home updates, it says :-

"You are currently using the latest version of TomTom HOME: 2.7.2.1825
There is no newer version available."

I can connect to TomTom home ok and download mapshare updates etc no problem, I just cant get the GPS fix for some reason... It starts to do it, I get the normal TomTom Services "CONNECTING TO SERVER" screen, but then it fails and I get a message that says "AN ERROR OCCURRED ON THE TOMTOM SERVER. PLEASE TRY AGAIN"

yes what version you running perhaps its become corrupt.

mine is 2.6 but sure there is a later one.

yes youre on the later one , odd maybe worth reinstalling it as it dont take that long.

Just uninstalled TomTom HOME from my PC

Downloaded latest version of HOME from the TomTom website, and re-installed it, but Im still getting the same error... Weird!!

Sorted it....

I logged into my TomTom account first, then tried the GPS fix again and it worked this time.. I presume for some reason it must have lost my details or something and wouldnt log in.. You would presume though if that was the problem it would say that, instead of just saying there was an error on the server????

im not logged in on mine but still get the gps fix as of 30 min ago.

never bothered logging in for at least 6 months since i last formatted pc.
