my model: le40b650T2W CI and not the CI+
yes, hard to tell, main impression more videos play (different/tweaked codecs) and improved mediaplay usb & DLNA in combination with Samsung PC Share Manager 2.3 met de T-CHL7DEUC.2005

Thanks for reply Giga. Think I have the same TV as you. Will try loading it and see if it improves the media/DLNA as they are a not too great at the moment

Wifi is not good enough for HD, works better on network cable. the sticker at the back where the serial number is should tell what model you have.
It plays wmv 1080p without problems

DIE OLDTIMER SHOW BERLIN is a good one 1080p Download 128 MB. Make sure you are using Samsung PC Share Manager 2.3 for DNLA streaming from computer to flatscreen, spooling FFW / REV is done with the cursor keys. If it is the same model then you would need T-CHL7DEUC.2005, make sure you only have firmware on the usb stick.

Thanks Giga for info. My TV is the LE40B650T2W XXU (not sure what the XXU stands for)

Downloaded the latest firmware from the samsung site and loaded it onto an empty USB stick. Plugged it into the TV and the USB stick was recognised ok but when I tried to upgrade it, it came back after about 30 secs saying no file found. (tried 2 different memory sticks and 2 download files)

The file I loaded on the stick was T-CHL7DEUC and according to my download window it is an .exe file of 49,765kb

My existing firmware is 2009/08/14-002004

Have just noticed that u called the file T-CHL7DEUC.2005. Do you think I need to change the file extension to .2005

Any other suggestions welcome

execute that exe and when asked point to the usb stick it should unpack there.

Hi Giga,

I have the LE40B650T2P model (bought it 2 days ago) and when I check on Smasung support site the firmware is the same already installed on my computer (CHLCIPDEUC-2007.1). Do you perhaps know the difference between the T2W and the T2P? I'm wondering because I was fooled to think that there would be more widgets to use than simply news, wheather, picasa and Youtube. I do understand the difference between the smart applicationss (on 2010 models) and Internet@TV but there should be at least a twitter and flickr widget right? Well in my case there is no option to select anything else than the above widgets.

Called samsung support in Belgium (where i leave) but they didn't even knew what I was talking about...

Thxs for giving me some background info as I struggle to understand what the capabilities are.

is indeed latest firmware, if you want other widgets, you have to select as country netherlands, you have other widgets: twitter, rainradar netherlands & europe

thks for the tip but even after I have reseted the widgets It did not add any other option. Do you have other widgets than the four I have previously mentioned?

Just for my information, why did samsung not add the samsung apps functionality to the B series too? It doesn't seem too dificult to me to add this functionality in a firmware... there is memory enough for this kind of small apps in our series...it's a bit of a shame not to add them.

Thanks for the info.
I seem to have a problem with this 2 step update.
I have a Samsung series 8 LED TV, 8000 46".
On April the 21st 2010 I downloaded and installed version 3002.
I tried to install this new 2 step upgrade but...
=The field for Alternate Software is blank. So I cannot go back to a previous one.
=Whether I try step 1 or 2... I always get a message saying no software/update found (with the same USB stick that I have always, and only, used for the upgrades).

Any clues? Suggestions? Solutions?

Yes, if I go to contact Samsung, it says:
Model Code> UE46B8000
and...

Software version: T-CHU7DEUC-3002.1

So nothing to worry about, I have got the latest firmware., 3002.1.

Now, why if I go to Software Upgrade it only says:

Current version: 2010/04/21_0032002

I do not really know. Maybe there is no more space on that line.

Anyway, nothing to worry about, I have got the latest firmware, 3002.1.

Although I do not know what improvements, if any it brings.

I am still hoping for Samsung to add iplayer... they may never do it.

By the way, Giga, do you know if Samsung can replace the tuner with a Freview HD one?

Do you know if Samsung are ever going to offer us the newer Internet TV version they offer on their newer 3D models with iplayer and a load of other goodies like recording to USB...?
