awaiting blindscan whats the alternative

hi all i know we are still waiting for this to be implemented on the az but is their a cheap alternative thats quick and lets you set the freqs bands to scan please and would they find the 4.2,2 feeds(even though i know it wont display it)

Livefeed plugin sounds like an great Idea, it could be an POP-UP OSD in the right corner with option to view the feed or not.

I just ordered a Vantage 1100HD for this very reason. You could use a cheaper blindscanning receiver like a Strong, Traxis DBS3500 or the like. Often you can hear the feed but can't see pics so you then punch in those details into your Az and voila.....pics! :)

hardware blindscan,very accurate,you enter your frequency range to scan,if you like.
Scans DVB-S and DVB-S2,which nor STRONG or TRAXIS can.

yes will find feeds in all the formats you mention,but will not display 4:2:2 video SD nor HD.
You were asking about blindscan,can't pretend to have a perfect box,but this one is a killer regarding blindscan.
I mentioned the cheaper model,but I bought a 8000hd,which is dual tuner PVR (internal HDD)

Keep in mind,I'm only trying to answering your question,not promoting the vantage.
I also have an azbox elite (couple,actually)

Yes it let you enter a starting frequency,and end frequency,to set the range you want.
Do not need to enter any SR to scan.That is what blindscan is for: to find frequency and SR.

The rest of the question is not really clear.
It finds the correct symbol rate no matter how low or high it is.

That's AZbox HD Menu in Dutch, so looks like another Beta that isn't "out" for testing on "dailyfw"... ;)

It is clear you do not know how blindscan works : it finds the digital carrier,sees the bandwidth,and approximate the symbol rate until it gets a lock.
But you thinking is brute forcing the symbol rate starting with a value,as it were software based blindscan.
It is not.
If takes the same time to find a sr of 1500 as one of 30000.
Hardware blindscan is way faster than brute force in software.

The blindscan is the reason i bought the box,basically because there is no other,and may never be. ( but having a dual tuner PVR additionally makes also an impact for me)
The only thing this box is not doing is CS ( unless you use a diablo wifi card or the sort)
