well, it did work about a month ago on timed recordings, but due to latest firmware upgrade i formatted app area, factory reset, reloaded mgcamd for dvb-'see' and channels etc and now wont record ...i've tried formatting to fat 32 and putting straight back into az, also tried formatting in az with linux...did get a couple of minutes to rec by pressing rec button...but thats it!!!
anyone please help:party:

ps love box more now with latest fw except this prob!!

Best way to format a stick in fat32 is to use HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool .

Needs to be format in Ext3 not Fat32 or NTFS

The idea about HP utility is that it fixes most of problematic sticks . Than format stick ext with az of course .

did ext on the azbox hd...and as usual it frrezes the format around 61-75% , screen goes blan, needs a reboot and then the necessary files are not on it and azbox does not recognise as a recordable device....thanks...more helpppp please!!!!

Could be a bug.... go back to 3177 and try to format again.

I use a little notebook hard drive , it takes the power from the USB, no problems with it.

As I said somewhere, an USB stick is not that good for recording it can usually make the box crash (mine almost always does).

An USB 2.5" HDD is the best, low power and is fast enough.
