Yesterday I mounted an DVB-T tuner on my Elite.
It was easy and it works fine.

But it says in the tuner board "DVB-C2".
I though it was a DVB-C tuner that came by mistake, but no it really is a DVB-T tuner.
In contrast the original DVB-S2 tuners says "DVB-S-S2" in the same place on the board.

Two possible conclusions:

1 - DVB-T and DVB-C tuners can be almost the same, but with small changes or almost none.
If many TVs have digital tuners that support DVB-C and DVB-T in one, why STB box can't have it too?
Because they want to sell more tuners?

2 - The tuners might support DVB-C2 and maybe DVB-T2.
Only the future with DVB-T2 and DVB-C2 transmissions will tell for sure.

Regards!

third conclusion, you got a bug somewhere.

I'm in Portugal, I don't have those in DVB-T/T2.

Maybe if the tuners were really DVB-C2 or DVB-T2 compliant they could said instead "DVB-C-C2" (as the DVB-S2 tuner) and not just "DVB-C2".

Bug? I guess not... :D

Yeah, I got my DVB-T tuner ages ago and it's got the same markings, they just used the same circuit boards for both C and T tuners, that's all.

the C2 is just a typo error, i know because they tell it also in a greek magazine.
Yes is possible to have T and C in a single tuner , but it seems they prefer to sell more tuners.
