Loaded Gem 4.5 and a new satellite list "Catseye E2 Settings 75 East-58 West 06.11.09" using dreamboxedit about 3 weeks ago.
I deleted all but 28.5e,28.2e,19.2e,16e,13e and 0.8w using dreamBoxEdit.
19.2 did not work from bouquets that came with satellite list, I got "tuner failed" error, but just tonight I got 19.2e to work when chosen form the satellite services list.

Now 0.8w has gone the same way, but will not load by bouquet or satellite services list. I get "tuner failed" error on all 0.8w. I have ftp'ed versions of the list that I have edited but there is now more problems happening all the time.

At one point I thought my LNB was broken but now i think it is corruption somewhere.

Help and ideas please :banghead:

Its not a channels list error, If reports are right your tuner is buggered.

There is a fix as far as im aware, Ive never had the tune failed but if you do a search im sure 100s will have had the same problem.

Did the settings work ok before you made changes ?
Have you tried other settings ?
Have you tried another satellite.xml ?

inline amplifer seems to fix all tuner errors including hd freezing.
something to do with certain tuners only working well with certain lnbs

You can get one for about £4 on fleabay.

Iv also noticed the temprature of the dreambox also has an effect.
Mine performs much better when its warm/hot (no fan)

In order.

No. I always have some channels missing. New image Gem 4.5 + new listing some of 19e missing. but not from channel list only from bouquets!! very odd!!

new satellite.xml made no difference

Loaded different sat listing listing (likra 8 sat)all of 28.2 19 and 13 working no 0.8w:banghead:

When trying to fix that problem the dish went ape and went to the extreme west.

This morning after i left the box power off for while I managed to move the dish but them asked it to go to a BBC1 and it went loopy of to the west again.

going to try again with a fresh Gem 4.5 flash and see how we get on.

Update no luck

From them results your elevation is slightly out, hence you miss 0.8 which is slightly lower when in UK. Thus why i always align my dish on that sat and then the others also come in fine.
As for the dish going ape thats just a typical DM800 attribute. It just pleases itself sometimes when it cant find postion ots looking for.

I have uploaded an edited channel list from 28.2e to 12.5w on the pimps.
You find it HERE (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?p=680565#post68056 5)

I'm hopefully getting the dish sorted in the next few days. I will then load your list you kindly left. How do you get your dish to come back?

thanks again

My dish is okay now after aligning with meter on 0.8. So its then perfect for most sats.
However if you select 1 of the weaker channels from say 7e. It will miss it and start going "ape" as you put it.
Simple to retrieve once all positions are set up correctly, just select a strong channel from a stronge sat.

One big tip though, switch off USALS and store sat postions manually. I found this made a massive differance (like many others)for my dish finding the sats 1st time when hopping from sat to sat.

this is the inline amp i bought off of fleabay it did not work until I stopped using a powerful fan which I had sat on top of my dm800.

this is the description---

Konig In-Line Satellite Amplifier Booster include 2 F Connectors

This excellent device is perfect for boosting a signal on a long run of cable. This is often needed as the longer the cable, the more signal loss.

The amplifier simply sits in line on the cable between the dish and receiver and the LNB switching voltage is used to power it (no need for a separate power supply).

This is very easy to install and uses F connectors on either side.

Specification:

18dB IN-LINE AMPLIFIER
Frequency Range: 950 - 2400 MHz
Gain: 18dB
Max. output: 110dBuV
Slope: No

-- I have no picture break up at all on any channel!

I used to have bad pictures on sly sports 1 hd and all others on that transponder!

now works great

My problem is my sat will not respond to the sat positioning buttons on the 800 it just sits pointing down at the ground its gone so far west.

Due to my not being able to get up to the motor or sat, I'm wondering if there is a "gizmo" that would allow me to move the dish independent if the tuner?

I will definitely turn usals off next time. never used it on my TM but have always on my DreamB don't know why!

I think you will need to manually reset your dish this means going up to your dish and holding both east and west buttons in for about 10secs and navigate back to centre!!

Make sure you put the limits on your motor to stop it turning too far east or west just look in the manual on how to do this!

I've got someone coming over today to do this. I'm disabled so I cant get up to the dish. I have had so much trouble getting an engineer to help in the SW London area it unbelievable.

Yeah ive heard that it can be hard work to get someone out to set it up. I suppose the engineers speak to each other about difficult installations and the DM800 is not easy but once set and programed in postions with USALS switched off DOES WORK WELL.

Just remeber to take a back up of sat postions once you got everything working so you dont have to go through this again when you update an image in the future.

how do I take a backup of motor settings?
If I load a new channel list into my db800, downloaded from the net for example.. ,wil the motor configuration also be changed then?

on Nabilo, you can do a complete backup which also stores your sat positions, not sure with other images.

Uploading a new channel list will not effect you satellite positions. You only need to worry about your positions when you reload or change your image

yes thats correct a new list will not affect your motor settings ive been using catseye lists on my dm800HD for quite some time now but as yet have not experienced any issues at all so i suggest simply load a new list and let us know how you get on with that ?

Hello

I have found in the market a line amplifer as described below:

30dB IN-LINE AMPLIFIER
Frequency Range: 950 - 2400 MHz
Gain: 30dB

Unfortuinatly i found out that the signal quality of frequency is reduiced for Hotbird from 55 % to 29 % ON S** IT HD channel and line signal has increased from 67 % to 100% therefore the channel freez more than before using the line amplifer.

any advice to increase the signal quality
thank you
