By our m8 Fundidun, from AzboxHD.es forum [Google translation, which I edited a little bit]:
In this post I want to talk about some things I'm seeing on some other forums and lay people's comments regarding using various tuners in AZbox HD.
Many of these people are confusing standards and modulations and hopefully this post will help make it a little clearer.
Our receiver can work with:
· DVB-S / S2 tuners (Standard for Satellite QPKS/8PSK)
· DVB-T tuner (Digital Terrestrial Television Standard OFDM)
· DVB-C tuner (Standard for Digital Cable TV QAM)
Having said that, let's see where the confusion comes from.
Everyone is clear that AZBOX HD can cope with QPSK and 8PSK modulations for SD and HD channels, but not everyone understands... [this is not clear to me - Fundi must clarify - my comment] ..."but not everyone is clear that standards have systems Digital Terrestrial and Cable TV, saying that if your tuner is DVB-T2 and DVB-C2."
[I suppose, it comes back to the Q whether AZbox HD can work with the tuners just mentioned above - my comment.]
All this comes from a bad practice in the UK, where they are accustomed to calling DVB-T "DVB-T2" (which is not true). It is true that the first broadcasts in DVB-T2 will be made in England, as a test of that technology, but it does not begin until late 2009 and early 2010.

Well, at this point, many are asking questions about DVB-T2 and DVB-C2, that the new standards are being developed to provide a breakthrough to cable and DTT, as it once happened with DVB-S bringing about a new standard, i.e. DVB-S2.
These new standards are different to those now in circulation. Maybe they will come on the market in years to come, when the market will be able to adopt them (possibly within 1 -5 years, according to industry's needs).
Can our receiver demodulate (descramble/tune to) the new DVB-T2 and DVB-C2 standards?
No, at least not without a change in the Hardware.
Is there a receiver on sale that supports these standards?
No. Although we can see some new developments we need to study, however these are owned by different manufacturers.

Well, I hope this is all clearer now. If anyone wants more specific information on the standards here discussed, please fire away....
