If you are going to get an external drive for the tm6900 then make sure you get one that DOES NOT have its own power supply. You need one that is powered by the usb lead only.
The hdd's with their own power supply go to sleep and don't wake up to record when you need them to.

I just checked on pcworld and you can get 500Gb WD passport drive for £69 which seems very good value.

Don't forget you are likely to get much more HD in the coming months/years so don't scrimp on size just to save a few quid.

Get a esata hard drive as i find the usb type 2.0 hard drive a bit slow and picture breaks up.

Hi Den123,

I bought the WD 500gb Hard Drive and had no problems. Just plug it in to the back of my Techno 6900super and away it went.

Cheers POPEYE05...
