Hello
My Humax HDCI-2000 is now making a ticking noise at the back where the lnb cable goes in and is diplaying LNB short, does anyone know what this means or how I fix it.
Cheers

Hi there.
I have the same problem, ticking noise. No or bad signal. I think the green light on the motor is off, and the dish is not moving nor making any noise... I once got the LNB Short message...
Is replacing the LNB the only solution?
Any ideas/suggestions?
It all started after, while moving devices, the sat cable became loose from the back of the Humax. I plugged it in again (I turned it off at the back switch, but I did not unplug the receiver!)
Thanks.

if coax been out side best to cut of 6cm ( if u got extra coax outside )
and re do plug.
make sure u fit plug and inner is not 2 long.
there is a link on here how to wire f type coax if need link on here ?? .
i not got a motor so cant help with that .
sounds not 100% is a wiring or motor on way out.

Hi highway1,
Thanks for your help.
I'll try rewiring the plug.
I also read somewhere else:
"I just disconnected power, lnb cable, and hdmi cable,re-connected and powered up again and all was fine again"
"it looked like the outer (earth) thin wires were touching the main centre wire. I cut it back and re done it and all was working fine"
"I would recheck the cable connections at both ends as it appears that you may have a wisp of screening sgorting out one of the F plugs"
Fingers crossed.
Thanks.

It is alive!!!!
Finally got the time to unplug everything.
Unscrewed the connector, the central wire, too long, had bent and was touching the socket, hence the short.
Cut a bit of wire, screwed the conector back... and both the HDCI 2000 and the LNB had survived, so it works!!!
No excuse now to replace the HDCI 2000. Doh!
Thank you all for the advice.
