View Full Version : Freezing every 7 seconds??

Hi guys, newbie here!!

I've only recently joined the forum but was wondering if any one could shed some light on a little problem I am having.

I have a TM 9100s with a white s*y card installed. I am running CCcam 2.1.3 and Newcs 1.67 ND3. All is fine, can decode all channels and get all clear ones. But on the decoded ones I am getting a slight freeze, kinda like a stutter, digitizing image then gone. This is occurring every 7 seconds or so. And if you look close you can see the sound is a tiny bit out of synch immediately after a stutter.

I have searched the net high and low looking for a solution, but to no avail, so hoping someone on here may be able to help.

I'm thinking is it something in the code?

Below is my code for both CCcam and NewCS.....if someone can see anything wrong or needs adjusting.

Thanks guys!

Hello everyone.

@bossian

Change <blockga>No</blockga> to <blockga>Yes</blockga> and it should fix your problem.

Regards to all,

Peckish.

Thanks for the reply peckish, but sorry it hasn't cleared to problem.

What exactly happens is, theres a slight stutter on the sound, then the image pixelates slightly about a second later. The image then clears and the same repeats itself about 7 seconds later.

Someone mentioned to me that it seems like the sound and picture are dropping out of synch?? Is this possible?

Bossian, hash(#) this line: 'B: /dev/sci0 07' in cccam.cfg.
If you're using Newcs to read the card, the only thing you need in the cccam.cfg is the N lines.

If it's only happening on the encrypted channels then the glitch may be caused by the card not being read fast enough I think.

Try adjusting this <mhz>357</mhz> to<mhz>500<mhz> for the two card readers and see if that cures the problem. This is what I run my card at with no problems at all. I have EDG4.4 in flash FYI.

Thanks for the replies guys!

Too Silsila, have #'ed out everything in cccam except the 2 'N' lines....this now proves to me that the problem has got to be with the newcs file.

Too Prontopro: have raised the frequency to 500, but problem is still there. But I do agree, i feel there is a problem with the times taken to decode from the card. If I keep the osd on and watch the ecm times, I see an average of 870ms to 960ms decoding times....are these too high?

I'm currently using nemisis 3.2.....been told changing this wont change whats occuring here.

Prontopro

Yes way too high and that's causing the problem. It's taking too long for the card to reply with the correct response and the EMU has no option but to stop decoding the picture until it receives the correct answer which is a fraction of a second later but too late for the picture to remain stable for you.

You could try editing the Newcs XML file and remove the lines that you don't need to see if that helps you.

I'm not an expert but can offer you what I use.

I have MGCamd 1.31 and a modified NewCS 1.65 running on mine. Response times for an old blue sky card are around the 150-160ms and for a new white sky card are 85ms (approx 1/10th of yours) for the channel FIVER. This combination also updates both Sky cards without having to put the cards back into a Sky box. I never got CCcam to do this and so stopped using it. I don't have a Subscription so cannot comment on response times for other encrypted channels and I don't cardshare.

The modified NewCS xml file is one where I've upped the freq to 5MHz (as per previous post) and I've removed all the unnecessary lines like this

<!-- <rsa>0000000000</rsa> -->

which aren't required for me and will slow the cycle response times.

I have EDG4.4 in flash and my box now is perfect for me. I did have a motor control problem but it was down to the age of the motor and when I replaced it with a new TM2600 the box behaves perfectly for me.

I would strongly recommend that you flash your box to a newer image and edit your xml file to see if things improve. I'm not sure I agree with the comment that upgrading the image will not change anything but it may be correct. But if you're a fan of EDG3.2 then you will love EDG4.4. I think it's a lovely image in terms of picture quality, stability ( virtually never get a crash) and aesthetics.

Hope this helps.

Guys couldn't he not just use CCcam_2.1.3 on its own with his new white card ?
