"safe shutdown"

Finally they have implemented it!
It's a very important function... I always hated to have to do shutdown interrupting the power line!

"Telnet disabled" instead I hope to not understand well... I have always a shell opened in my AZBOX... how can I do without it?

Very strange...

I found that today, with 0.9.4056. Telnet Disabled by default, all you have to do is re-enble it. So to be honest, not really that big a deal, but hey ho, must be easy tweaks for the small things!!!!

Did you try to see if there was an alternative audio source in the file with the menu button???

I have not come accross a file that has no audio, however i have had one or two .avi files that the AZBox WONT play, and they also DONT play on the Xbox360 or the PS3, but VLC plays them on pc. Must be something to do with how they have encoded the .avi file.

It had only one audio file.Maybe it was the movie.I will try later with another movie that it works since i played with previous firmware at azbox

I can!!! R:respect-023::respect-023::respect-023:R:eek:R:woohoo-022:]

how to:

1. Goto channel in your favourites that you want to delete
2. Press 'OK' (You will then have the on screen display of that channel plus other channels in your fav group)
3. Press 'Menu' (To the top left of the centre buttons up down left right)
4. Scroll down to delete
5. Confirm

Thats it, works fine

ok, try this :

AZBoxEdit

Enable telnet on azbox
Retreive channels with AzboxEdit
Save channels to computer (dont need a name, just save.
Reboot Azbox
Send Channels Back to Azbox
Azbox will reboot
Then see if you can delete fav's.

It could be a glitchy problem, where firmware has update, and if your like me, you dont format, just carry on installing update after update, but i tend to pla6y around with my channels a lot, and i am pretty sure that i have received and sent my channels to the azbox during these fw updates.

See if that helps!

Try to amed the following line, so instead, it will not reboot but will shut down from either ssh or telnet:

vfd_display -td210 REBOOT

could the REBOOT be changed to SHUTDOWN ?? not familiar wth the linux command to shut down linux from telnet.

If youtry just REBOOT in telnet of ssh, it locks up the AZBox, as it only stops the linux op system, and not the STB soft, thats where the extra bit at the front comes in to play. That stops the STB soft, then the reboot command is done. Came accross this though google looking to see how i could reboot the az via ssh when i am at work, which i am at the moment, so dont want to try and shut the AZ down, watching TV!!

Give it a go and see how you get on!

I know, Adi, I know...

But that's not the point: it has a bug, it seems to me, and we are reporting... That's all...

Thanx! :)

Anyone done any speed tests for Lan/USB ?

goran
19-12-2009, 03:17 PM
Many. It is seriously throttled. In DB800 it's 20-30MB/ps, if memory serves...

This is from Sat-Universe, and done on older FW:

CIFS -> DOM /Downloads

(That DOM module should be faster that 100Mbits/sec surely)

Saw quite a bug doing these transfer tests, looks like something is crapping out during transfers.

3Mbytes/sec write speed ain't bad for a Sigma, so don't knock it too much.

It's buggy as hell, the `test` file is a 60Mb binary of zeros. First test would transfer between 30-40% of the file and then kill the cp command. After shutting down the running CAMS/EMUS I could get over 50% transferred.

SO be thankful that the speed is throttled by software, the alternative is this...(from dmesg)
