Hi - thinking of investing in one of these as I am due for an upgrade.
I wonder if anybody could recommend and help with a couple of questions.
I can find my way round receivers, programmers etc reasonably well but by no means expert so looking for something appropriate.
I have Force 516 series at the minute with 1 metre dish (not sure what make to be honest).
My main question is regarding satellite positions as I have never changed receivers without full installation before. When its set up will it find channels on the position is starts on (and from there be able to finds the other positions automatically or is there some work to do on that) I saw one site advertising a service to programme in positions and channel lists for you before sending it - is that worthwhile or is it easy to do?
What do you think of hard drive option - I have a toshiba dvd recorder with hard drive so maybe that isnt necessary.
Can you pick up most of the HD channels on it and picture quality.
Finally on keys - are these all entered manually or via usb (or both) and stored on the TM rather than Cam?
Any other info - pros / cons would be good.
Many thanks

Hi Phil, I have the very stp. highly recomended .Yes it will find the sats and channels using the USALS auto navigation, you need to know you're locations co-ordinates to input first though, and then use Thor at I West as a reference for the dish setup and once that has been done it should find the others in you're view. There are only a limited number of HD channels in the clear at the moment and as Idon't posses a HD TV I am unable to comment on the quality. Picture quality is very good otherwise. Keys and other updates can be updated via the USB and a memory stick. hope this helps.

picture quality is quite good, have 2 of these boxes hooked up to Samsung LE40B650 and UE40B8090.
Setting up channels and maintaining these is easy. You can find a small guide here: Clarke Tech Editor Studio (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?t=110802) <= click here.

I have a tm6900 super hd and I think the picture quality is very good. SD pictures are upscaled and look good too.

If you did not know your watching SD you would have thought it was a HD transmission you're viewing.

Many thanks for replies - have taken the plunge and awaiting delivery.
One point to check in advance on roybach's note ref co-ordinates.
My area seems to be 53.5 Lat and -2.07 Long - do you actually enter a 'minus' value on the 2.07 as reading the threads on dishes it seems to suggest Manchester area 53 and 2 (rather than minus)

when your on the antenna Longitude it shows 00.0° W so you would not need to input the 'minus'

for those on the East of Greenwich place the cursor on the W and press OK on the remote to toggle W/E
