currently using the echostar3000 as a positioner...was thinking of "upgrading" and getting a v-box to drive my dish...occasionally i need to "tweak" the dish..this is easy with the echostar..is it the same with the v-box
any help appreciated
cheers

thanks for the reply..do you tweak it manually on the v-box or use the dm800 ?

i just use the remote with the vbox, then store new postion, usually just a notch really and not very often.

Hi,
When you tweak have you the option for a single satellite or a tweak that is universal for all satellites.
Thanks

just got it lads..disconnected the echostar....1st of hopefully not 2 many problems....connections on the echostar are as follows:-
M1
M2
M PULSE
GND

Connections on the V-Box are
M-
M+
SENOR-
SENSOR+
The motor connections are not a problem..just reverse them if dish goes the wrong way..but baffled with the sensor connections..how do i know which is + and - or does it not matter..do you just reverse these if it dosent work ?
any help appreciated
cheers

pulse goes to top,and ground goes to the bottom (sensor) as you look at the back of the vbox

ah different vbox then, did u have any instructions with? i just copied what was pulse and ground (black and white on mine) on my old postioner and followed what they should be on my vbox

instructions just advise to "attach sensor connections" not very good really..i would go for it either way but worried i might cause damage if wrongfully connected...

dont think it matters m8,hence the instructions,if its not counting right change them,as long as you dont get the mot wires mixed up ie you dont put a sensor wire in the M terminals

its exactly the same as your pic. mate except the motor and sensor connections are inline and not "stacked"..was trying to up load a pic..but was too big..thats another story....

kinda guessing then it would be, m1,m2,pulse,gnd inline

thanks for the help mate..eventually got it sorted.and connected.....through the menus and into the positioner set up....but was getting no signal..strange( i knew i`d left the dish positioned on 1w)....disconnected the v-box and put the echostar back on ...still the same...no signal...connected the sly dish 1st to the dm800...picture fine..then to the echostar again fine...dont know if its just bad timing or the v-box caused it but looks like lnb is knackered...had the wife holding the torch...and as i write this she has drove to a mates to borrow another lnb !!!she`s a star!!!

erm lnb was fine....my fault...erm long story.....ok lads up and away..only one thing cant get any signal from anything past 28e got a faint signal on 33e...but nowt on 39 & 42...both of which came in no probs when using the echostar as a positioner... no problems with any satellites on the west...right up to 30w......any ideas ?

can only suggest fine tuning the dish m8,altho i have some channels that play up with the vbox.
my vbox has an earthing fault on it along with other peoples so i read,i have moved it around a bit and finaly it works better.but that may very well just be mine.

@ simon..yeah mate...only work one way..luckilly did not knack it as i had it wrong initially...got me mates borrowed lnb( no feed horn as such) on the dish @ the moment..weather is sh** so dont really want to go out in the snow and re-fit my original lnb with the channel master feedhorn on it...think signal strength and quality will improve then so will give it another go on those easterly sats i mentioned before

I have a friend who is struggelig with his V-Box and DM800.
His problem is that the dm800 set the vbox into standby after 2 sec. If he runs the motor from e.x 13E to 19E the motor stops after 2sec. he needs to turn the motor on agin, and needs to repeat the operation agin.

It goes into stanby mode always after 2 sec.

He also have a axbox HD. with this reciver everything is working fine.

the lnb setting is diseq 1.2 and uscals off.

Does someone knows?
