the above happens everytime i do a reboot of the box i lose my flash, if i goto http://192.168.1.3 (box ip) all i get is the grey flash loading page, where i have to load my image up again, which believe me is a right royal pain in the ass.
anyone else had anything like this. my current image i am running is nabilo v0.12, i have just rebooted the box and put on original image first and reload the updates from gemini and then put the nabilo image on again, but now i do not want to reboot and lose everything again.
i only noticed this happening when i installed this image but i do not reboot my box that often.
my box is an original box.
thanks

I remember a loading probem back with 0.9 or 0.10 i think, it was something to do with the bootloader or drivers. Updating with latest bootloader and drivers before attempting to upgrade image.

@ ginjaninja
sorry to ask this mate, but you're 100% sure you've got an orignal box, as the problem suggest to me a clone.

Good point, i wrongly assumed that ginjaninja was using a genuine box as the clone issues are widely known.

for your bootloaders ftp to your tmp folder m8 then goto install ipk on db800,might help strange problem your on off button is not half stuck on or somthing is it,cos to get to the image load screen you usually have to hold in power button and turn power on and off,i use nab images id say most popular im using 11 as had issues with 12

well i have tried what has been said above, went back to old image loaded up latest drivers and bootloader and then loaded nabilo bh v0.12 will try and reboot soon. also check button seems ok.
i have had no probs with nab images in the past either this is the first time, is there a battery on board that could be dead so when i power down i lose the image thats in the flash.
thanks for all the help

Shouldn't affect it, even if there was a battery which was used, since the flash is just that ... flash. You write to it, and it stays there until you delete it. Think of usb memory sticks etc, they don't have a battery on them...
One thing that I would suggest after having the problem myself to some extent, is see if the psu is causing the problem. If you have a dm500 or any other dreambox, then try changing the psu over, and see if that helps. I used a different power supply when mine had died, and although it was similar, it wasn't quite exactly the same. This caused the box to power off at times, and at one time corrupted the image. Doubtful it will be the cause of it, but possibly worth a try if you can.
Other thing I would suggest, is go to the dmm website, and select the contact form, and send them an email. Maybe they have had similar things in the past, and might be able to help. If not, then at least you tried, and might be able to help them to debug some further problems that they haven't run across before...
