Sounds interesting.

No more splitting files when recording?

ftp transfer speed improved?

hdd gui?

Did anyone check out what it means?

From azbox developers

HDD Gui, refers to a GUI while the HDD formatting. FTP up/down refers to some ftp connections reseting during a large file transfer. ISDB-T tuner solves a problem of this tuners not being recognized.

Blind Scan is still a WIP. Please test.

Conspicuous by it's absence (again) > no disappearing channel fix (and resulting lost reserved recordings) :-(

Some other fixes/add

In channel list information we can select channel download.It gives a 404 error for wrong page but i think u can edit it at Disk2/channel_URL

Internet connection status fixed

The codecs missing since 4001 are back in this patch

Yes, I know that annoying bug. You can't resume anymore, only after reboot.

Nice it was fixed.

I never lost reserved recordings.

I never lost reserved recordings.

My favourite channel list temporarily disappears-can be refreshed manually by switching to, for example, to "all" and then switching back again (known bug) and it prevents a reserved recording working.

Now I know what you are talking about!

Sometimes when I press "OK" there's only one channel in the list.
I have to make the channel list disappear and press "OK" again.
In most cases all channels are back again then.
That's an annoying bug too. :smash:

hi has anyone tried the blindscan function,and is it working ok now

Aragos

I've tested the new FW and it works fine.
Recordings are not splitted anymore. :)

But there's one thing I still can't understand:

Why is it so difficult to make plugins close correctly??? :smash:

Plugins like mboxinfo still can't exit correctly. After closing they stay in memory!
And this bug exist for many, many FWs! When will this be fixed finally?! :ack2:

Still can't play movies from my computer over the network as happened in previous firmware.

When a file is selected the box just hangs and has to be rebooted to get going again. It worked well in earlier firmware.

Also tried to get on to YouTube and the videos just spin but don't load.

Internet didn't work either. The icons keep switching between the new smaller ones and back to the original ones after each reboot.

For me this is a disappointing version, as I only rely on basic stuff, no card sharing an so on, but the basic stuff doesn't seem to work - but maybe that's just my experience?

The internet connected summary has been fixed, and the sd picture maybe looks nicer!

Might just go back to a version that had none of the above problems, as I'm not seeing any advantage with this version.

I dont have any problems with playing .avi files from my Network storage. Do you mount the shares on start up using the NAS plugin?

I mount 3 Network Folders on Boot as follows:

TELEVISION mounted to DOWNLOADS
MOVIES mounted to PICTURES
MUSIC mounted to MUSIC

and finally the USB HDD gets the following (as it has the Blueray Films)

sda1 mounted to MOVIES

All works fine for me, if you want i can post the contents of my NAS for anyone.

YES! That's the one - you get left with just one channel - and if you have reserved a different channel, the recording fails!

Please explain NAS plugin
for us

This howto describes how to mount a NFS share with a plugin script.
It mounts the NFS shares to /DATA/movies /DATA/music etc
So you can select them via the menu of the AZbox.

Note: 192.168.x.xx = Ip of your NAS or server

Make a new folder in the OpenXCAS plugin directory on the Azbox:

cd /EMU/OpenXCAS
mkdir mount
cd mount

create a file in this folder with the name mount.sh with the following content:

#!/bin/sh
mount -t nfs 192.168.x.xx:/dir/to_your/video /DATA/movie -o nolock,soft,rsize=8192,wsize=8192
mount -t nfs 192.168.x.xx:/dir/to_your/music /DATA/music

Create a file called openxcas.conf in the same folder:

[module]
name = mount
daemon = mount.sh
version = 1.0

then chmod 755 *

in the same folder to give the files execute rights.

Go up one folder into /EMU/OpenXCAS and add a line in the module.seq file called mount (a # in front of a line means the plugin is deactivated).

Then you can select the plugin in the OpenXCAS menu called mount and start it with the OK or yellow button.

You should see the new files in the Movie and Music menu entries.

if you already have a HDD this might conflict with existing /DATA mounts and a harddisk that you might have installed, it will not corrupt anything it just wont work ,

tried that but it doesn t work m8

if i place a file with the content
# / bin / sh
# Automatic mount
#
mount -t nfs 192.168.1.10:/movies /DATA/movie -o nolock,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,in tr 0 0

in the start.d folder
it mounts it fine

but if i place exactly the same script line in the mount.sh
as you described it just doesn t mount
tried that multiple times

On recording with this firmware you don't have a limitation from 4 GB on ext3-volumes. :respect-040:
But with fat32-volume you have now a limitation of 2 GB. :confused:
I don't understand why 2 GB and not further 4 GB.

There is a lot of information about using NFS here:

Cheers!

What you should try is dont call them mount.sh , name them NAS.sh

Then in the opencfg file should be

[module]
name = NAS
deamon = NAS.sh
version = 1.0

Thats how mine is set up and all is ok.

I have exactly the same problem. The movies I could play in the previous versions I can't play with this version anymore. I can't even play mpg from harddisk.

Just found something this morning, hope this helps!!!!

If you dont want to mount your shares, but would prefer to go through the Network, when you set up your Network Service>File Server>Enabled>Settings you need to make sure the following:

Workgroup= Your Home Network Work Group
Server= What you want to call your AZBox
Account=I have assumed this is for the Network and NOT for the AZBox
Password= If you need one!

Hence, for my Home Network, it is the following:
Workgroup= MSHOME
Server= azbox
Account= guest
Password= <Left this blank

And voilla, i can now see the shares on my network!

In most cases, you will find that if you use guest as the account WITHOUT a password, you should be able to browse your shares at home.

Regards

Adi

Shouldnt ask you for a password. I have just double checked my end here.
My settings are as above, Make sure that you have put the same network name in as yours. May be CASE sensitive

Then you should be able to browse your home network.

You have enabled sharing on your PC havent you?
