Guys,

Has anyone else noticed that the DM800 has sync problems between video and audio on HD channels? ... I get this happenning sporadically on all the HD channels ... it's usually pretty close, but the video is defo fractionally ahead of the audio ...

:-?

Try changing resolution from or to 720p-1080i see if it makes a diference?

Are you using latest drivers and secondstage?

I'm currently using 1080i, so maybe giving 720p a go could be an idea, as suggested.

Imagewise I'm using the latest Gemini release (4.6 from 2009-12-24), which I would imagine would have all the latest software, etc ?

have you tried the lip sync option usually in the plugins if it's not already pre installed.

OK, I downloaded the lipsync plugin, but from what I can tell this can only be used to delay the audio, so cannot help me if the audio too slow in the first place?

@Cardreader, I'm not sure what you mean ?

This was an issue with the DM500 which can be overcome by disable fast zapping. However, as I only got my DM800 yesterday I don't know if there even is a fast zapping option in the config. If there is disable it.

Also, are you using sound over the Dvi connection or are you outputting to an amp via the digital optical connection? You can set a delay if it's the latter.

I'm using sound direct from DVI.

Funnliy enough, I turned in a HD moview last nigth, and it seemed perfectly fine.

So the effect is hit-and-miss.

i find that the sync is hit and miss and in no particular pattern.. all you can do is keep upto date with the drivers..!

When you say keep up to date with drivers, do you mean having the latest image? ... or is there a way of loading new drivers without updating image?

cheers ... Wally

Wally the best way to keep up to date with drivers is to have usb stick installed and put oozoon lite into flash and run Barry Allen for your images.
Oozoon will update to the latest drivers, when you know they are available by booting into it in flash, you will then either check via software updates or it will(if set up for it)automatically tell you via onscreen message that a new update is available, Dunc.

Wally did you sort this problem out mate ?

I'm also using BH with sound out of DVI, I have the drivers up to date but still getting a really bad sync problem on HD channels.

Anyone that could help please?

Yea same here mate, mine is an orignal as well.

It must a setting we have got set up wrong, I have got a RF modualator pumping my dreambox around the house.

I was watching something on a HD channel the other day & it was well out of sync, but popped upstairs and it was purfect.
I know it's not in HD as it is modulated to a UHF frequency around the house, but it was fine.

So it must be a digital audio setting we have got incorrect.
