I've got a Pre-pay '3' dongle that cost £70. This gives 12GB of downloads or 12 months usage whichever runs out first.
I use it in my car for my Car-computer (web cam / GPS tracking / Internet radio etc..) Mostly it works well, it can stream 128Kbps internet radio mostly uninterrupted down the M4 corridor and Oxford area. And when I'm sat on my drive I can get 3Mbps download rate.

The 3connect software is a pig. Recently they added some advertising chaff to the control dashboard that started munching 100% CPU, thankfully there are ways round this….

is there a router that pay&go could plug into so as to run 2 pc`s?

I doubt it but you could always share the internet connected PC by setting up an ad-hoc link to a second PC. It would only require an ethernet crossover cable.
