Ok just got my DM8000 and have set it up with Nab 12

Now i seem to be having a little problem, the DM8000 is replacing skyhd
and a DM800 so i have 3 cables from 2 dishes, 2 from sky dish 1 from motorised dish

Ok, set tuner 1 to motorised dish Usuals
tuner 2 simple single 28e send diseqc No
tuner 3 simole single 28e send diseqc No

Now if i record a programme on 28e it starts but if i then try to goto
say BBC1 nothing happens, TUNER FAILED

Rec is flashing SNR 0% Ber 0%

But if i go to say 13e tuner 1 comes on straight away, so thats working fine.(TUNER1)

Confused.

Anyone help please?

Ok i'm recording a prog on 13e skyita, (tuner1)
I've also set another recording up on BBC1 28e.

Now i should be able to watch anoth prog on 28e but everything apart from a few are greyed out.
Take it the ones highlighted are same transponder?

So is a tuner faulty?

EDIT,

Check tuners one by one and sure there fine.

Any ideas?

Set up DM to record 3 diffrent channels around 11 tonight
sky cinam1
bbc1
sky familyhd

Will see how it goes.

The channels available on a tuner will be limited to the transponder if your recording

You must go again and scan channels with the second and third tuners you have, so they will be added in the list as reference for the other tuners.
Like this you can also enable PIP.

I think your problem will be gone if you use 'advanced' 'Configuration Mode' for each tuner and within that mode make sure the LNB for each tuner is set to a different number, eg tuner A set to LNB1, Tuner B set to LNB2 and tuner C set to LNB3. Also make sure that 28e is selected for tuners B and C within advanced mode.

I don't understand that - on mine, I scan the channels on Tuner A (the USALS) and Tuner B automatically has the 28.2e channels.

I have it set to simple, single 28e

Where did you get the extra tuner?

What I need is a way to set tuner priorities - drives me mad when it uses Tuner A to record on 28.2, and then I have Tuner B spare, but no motor!!

I dont have a dm8000 but from whats been said it seems it will use tuner A as first port of call for recordings (which makes sense)
So logic dictates you
you should plug your motor into tuner B and fixed dish into tuner A

Mine doesn't always use tuner A for recordings, Tuner A is motorised, set a recording on 28e and it never moved dish, it automatically use fixed dish.

They will only sell extra tuners when you buy the box from them.

Mine doesn't always use Tuner A to record either.. Often it will use Tuner B - I think a 3rd tuner on 28.2e will resolve those issues..

Ok quick Q?

If i back up settings using software manager does that back up everything to hard drive? CCcam files? Long/lattitude? channel list ?network settings?
Tuner settings? so on?

So if i load a new image then just go to
menu/setup/software manager/ restore system settings?

and everything will automatically load?

Thanks, love this box. :respect-069:

Anyone help? :king-041:

It backs up things like timer recordings, bouquets (channel lists) network settings, some plugin settings (like Autotimer, Movie Jukebox) etc..

If you go into the advanced menu in Software Management, then you can select what you want it to back up.

If its a fixed dish with a twin or quad LNB just set both tuners to no diseqc and single satellite for the one that it is pointed at.

Page 59 of the user manual "Service Searching" explains what you need to do.

12.1 to 12.1.7 shows you how to set up the tuners.

I've attached the pdf.

Just set each tuner to simple>single mode and select the same satellite on each tuner.
